I load my broken skid steer into a dump trailer & take it 200 miles to my favorite dealer. Then do a shop tour.

I totally agree with developing and maintaining a rapport with your favorite dealer. When you buy a piece of equipment from an independent dealer, you're not just buying a piece of equipment but the dealer as well. They will always take care of their customers. This is why I steer people away from buying mowers at big box, you don't get service after the sale with big box.

Here is a crazy idea for you. either use a label maker or a marker/ paint pen to write on the cover "remove safety chain before lifting trailer". You have to lift the cover to get to the control so it is a natural place to mark it. Great video, especially about the importance about a great dealer relationship.

We bought the toro swivel buggy last week. It was a pretty big purchase for us but we plan on using it for concrete pouring and to haul material between fences. We live in northeast Jersey so there are a lot of tight areas here. The best thing about this machine IMO is it’s FAST!! The controls are really comfortable for people with big hands, not so much for people with small hands. Also has an auto return feature for the bucket. So with one click it goes down automatically, the swivel doesn’t have the auto return feature though. I can’t say much other than those 3 things since we got it last week but we rented it before so I have some idea. Also Stan I’ve been watching you since sophomore year high school now I’m a junior in college studying Civil Engineering. I just want to say thanks, you’ve been a big motivation to me throughout the years. I love building retaining walls and paver patios so watching your retaining wall videos and your paver patio videos back then was what eventually lead me to study civil engineering, long story. Sorry for the ramble but thank you for all you do Stan!

On the toro mud buggy, they rock front on back a ton and have a very jerky ride, the controls are easy to learn and work with but they aren’t that precise. It’s also pretty loud but great for hauling concrete to a backyard that’s what I use my 7 of them for. Overall a great machine and toro definitely has the best one out there. Why I now got an all aluminum Neo enclosed trailer and N&N galvanized equipment hauler and if new will get a galvanized dump trailer if I don't find a small dump truck to suit my needs. The tracked buggy is a great machine. We use them quite often now. The tracked anyway because we have been using Crete buggies for years now. We rent them from Hammersmith for running concrete. You are correct, once you find and feel comfortable with a dealership, stick with them, especially you small independents. It is more important for you guys and gals to hang on to as much of your money as possible, and where you feel comfortable is best, so you can hold on to that hard earned money. Thanks Stan, another really great episode! Before I got operating scoop trams, I operated Kubota KH41 mini excavators underground digging railway track drainage ditches to keep the railway track from deterioting which was an ongoing problem. No ROPS on them as tight clearances that you had to constantly work the machine in, all the muck was loaded in 5 ton 24" gauged ore cars pulled by a 6 ton battery powered locomotive to the nearest ore pass to dump the slimes and muck out. I did this job for over 5 years, and I really loved it, but the money wasn't there, so that's when I switched over to mucking with scoop trams where the money was over double of what I made operating mini excavators, and the rest is the rest is history till my retirement when a stroke ended my mining career,

3:05 Duuude... So I watched your video a while back where you said "Always come back and double check all your connections". I hooked up my trailer and set off. After about 4 miles, I was thinking "I don't remember putting the lock on the latch.. WAIT! I don't remember latching it at all!!" my safety chains were in place and nested, but it turns out I did not latch the ball. OMFG! There was no damage or injury, the trailer did not come loose. But I was thinking all day about how I can re-configure my process. That was not a good day!

You should spray paint yellow arrow pointing to the chain so it reminds you every time so you don't break it again.

Great great video. Love the tour round. Still jealous of the size of your trailers/ loads you can tow behind your trucks. The UK likes small 3500kg combined loads towed before special licence are required. Stay safe 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Another great video Stan I’m glad the trailer says Texas pride on it. Up here in Minnesota if it traps and holds all that dirt I don’t care how good of a paint job it is it will rust out quickly

my friend has a Kubota mower (doesn't have the diesel, it's gas) he says with minimal effort you can stand it on the guard that goes around the motor, the hydraulic motors are that strong. he says it's excellent.

@@Dirtmonkey i'd have to ask him but he uses it for his lawncare gig he had on the side before college so i'd assume yes. His Grandpa bought it for him and he's been doing equipment related stuff his entire life

I’ve got one of em kubota mowers. Got an ‘08 ZD326 so 26 pony Diesel engine. My two cents would be they are not meant for a lawn care business. They are heavy and don’t handle or stripe all that great. But they are extremely over built and good at just being used and not looking pretty. Got 1800 hours and still running strong

@@Dirtmonkey yea not sure it would be something you would want unless you want to tourture test it. But I kid you not I bought 3 of them $800 each at age 11 from my dads work because they didn’t need them anymore, sold 2 of them for 7600 and started my business.
