Bro all you need to do is put a piece of masking tape on that white rectangular thing in front of the roller. I’m surprised nobody suggested this. I read about this on a DTF Facebook group and now every single type of sheet feeds through 100% of the time.

@@elegant_edits I haven’t either until yesterday. You should’ve seen me on Monday...running sheets over and over again just trying to get 20 prints done. Soon as I put the tape there, problem gone.

What type of DTF heater do you have? What are the fumes like? I have heard horror stories on the fumes.

Currently, I use my large format heat press, until we move into a bigger space (hopefully, a warehouse!). The fumes are toxic, if inhaled. I would suggest either getting a fume extractor with a charcoal filter or running an exhaust duct, to vent out the fumes. To be honest, the fumes aren't that bad. I wouldn't , however, recommend someone curing inside their living space. If you have to, I would recommend doing it in the garage, with the door open, or having the exhaust duct installed in the garage.

I am using the matte black channel in my configuration, now. For this reason, I now choose "double weight matte" as my media type. If you're using the photo black channel, I would go with an option that says 300 gsm. It really just depends on the type of film you are using.

Hi and thanks for watching! I don't believe that DTF is possible with that model printer because it is a proprietary sublimation printer from Epson. This means that it will only print with Epson's software (Epson Edge Print), which requires a specific license. Even when we have tried to print with Photoshop, it shows the driver as un-print-with-able lol

That is usually caused by spilling ink or cleaning solution inside the printer. If you are using a waste bottle to collect the waste ink, externally, you can go to inkchip.com and buy a reset key, to fix the blinking lights, if that's the issue. If you try to reset the cart and it blinks green, and won't turn solid green, you may need to replace the chip on the cartridge.

The conversion is similar, but the p6000 is so new, that Epson has implemented new tech, which only allows us to reset the ARC chips (resettable cartridges) 21 times, before it renders the carts unusable, unless you use a different serial chip set.

Yes, you can convert the 7890 and I believe Cadlink Digital Factory RIP supports it. You will need at least 1 set of refillable cartridges (on Inkowl, the 7890 cart set is $260). It is preferred to have 2 sets (1 set for flushing lines when stepping away for long periods). Your ink will be about $76/liter from STS Inks (5 colors come to $360). You will need printhead cleaner (some people use Windex) to clean ink spills and an extreme cleaner in case of clogs (runs about $20.litre). You will need Foam swabs (do not use cotton swabs). You need an anti-static duster to clean printed films from excess powder (causes white dots on clothing). FInally you will need PET film (since the 7890 is a roll printer, a roll of 24" can run > $250 for 325feet of film.

I was the first one to create a tutorial on how to convert the 7890, but when I started, I wasn't trying to create a tutorial. I found out that this issue was 100% due to my film. I had to purchase the double- sided matte film, because the single sided matte (glossy) film got bound up in the exit rollers. I need to make an updated video, with all that I've learned. Thanks for the feedback.
