Exhaust manifold is in 2 pieces with a high carbon metal expansion ring sealing the sections. It slowly rotates and wears over time and seals better as manifold and ring heats up.

The 2 piece exhaust manifold on the A25c probably had some form of gasket material that goes in to seal the seam. It might be soft steal, copper or some strange hard donut disk (like Ford used on their pickup trucks in the 70s). I have no clue what the donut was made of, but they would always burn out eventually.
@manifold14769 ай бұрын
tnx fer th' guesswork
@kirbyknechtel74459 ай бұрын
Check the exhaust leak once the engine is warm. You can use soapy water to check. You'll know the difference between a leak and the water boiling off. If it's leaking, you will see BIG bubbles.

@merleedgecomb60709 ай бұрын
The exhaust leaks, the one one the stainless steel pipes is not as serious as the one at the exhaust manifold. Th exhaust manifold leak could be serious enough to affect you turbo performance, maybe a quick and inexpensive solution, temporary, could be a Stainless Steel banjo clamp. Just a thought

PRO TIP @ 12:19 - park the truck so that the excavator does not have to rotate more than 90 degrees from the pile.
@Dontworryboutit3159 ай бұрын

@larryperdue5089 ай бұрын
Just a suggestion; when you are building a burn pile take a long tree 🌳 and lay down at the bottom and then build as usual and when you are ready to burn 🔥 take the excavator and pull it out and you have a way for the fire to breathe 😊 otherwise love the topic and love the show ❤

I removed a bunch of trees in a gated community and they told me to stack all of it in a couple empty lots and then just burn it. I doubt he had any idea how big of pile it would be. We lit it on fire and I had stacked the wood in a pile and we was going to toss the brush as on it as it burned down. A guy backed out of his garage across the street and boy was he looking since he had a wood shingled roof I don’t blame him but in just a few minutes here comes the fire department and they put it out and was giving me a 2 hundred dollar ticket but I talked him down to 50 buck ticket. 25 years ago and I still haven’t paid it and I charged the crap out of them to haul it off

I’m not a diesel mechanic, but that leak on the exhaust manifold is because you are missing a gasket. The issue is, with that leak, your turbo is not getting all of the exhaust so, your engine will get less boost and less power produced.
