You should cut your pipe into 4-5 foot lengths and screw them to the sides of 5 gallon buckets and put some rocks in the bottom and sink them into your pond for non eroding fish structure. Bass, crappie, and blue gill love to suspend off of them. I have done the same to many of my ponds and the fish love them. Mark them with Hunstand app and you will always know where they are so you can jig off them

I make a trip to that scrap yard once or twice a week if I have Friday off work and they are the only scrap yard open on Saturdays I have people bring stuff to my house and throw it on my trailer or I go clean up scrap for people at their property I've done it since before I could drive my grandpa and dad got me started into it sometimes you come across stuff I can use or make it work with a little engineering it's always interesting what we come across but when I haul a load it is heaping on the trailer and I ease it through the country down to H & S Recycling i could hear the older guy talking on there that helps you unload he is a hoot when he gets wound up and starts throwing stuff off the trailer if you need an extra metal barrels to put scrap in I have plenty with removable lids you could have a couple if you want them

Hi Evan and Rebecca, If you ever have any old wiring (that contains copper wire) that you have lying around throw it in a bon-fire and watch all the beautiful colors that appear, purples and greens, turquoize(?spelling?), yellows, etc... it is truly beautiful, enjoy your videos very much, have a blessed weekend

JudithB Scrap metal, misc parts n pieces pile up over time and its such a relief to haul it off. Feels good to clean up and more able to use the clean areas. Using the cement pads will be really nice not to wade in mud to fill the water and feed troughs too!!! I am taking the tin off the old rabbit cages, cutting them to size and putting them on the bottom of the greenhouse today. Yesterday I removed the old plexi and cut and hung the new plexi on the top of the wall. More sunlight coming in and no holes from mower rocks. I will still have to strip the east wall when I find more tin. The old rabbit cages will have to be stripped and taken apart this winter, dry rot. New metal cages are waiting for frame shelves to be built inside the barn. Hopefully this week with cooler weather will be very productive here!!

On the oak 2x4s make some thin strips of wood and put them between the layers of wood to promote air flow. Also covering it with a tarp will help to control the moisture.

You need to restack that lumber so that there are air gaps between each layer. It will dry it out and stop it rotting.

Scrap yards around me aren't open on weekends generally so I end up collecting for several years until the neighbors complain about the junk. It's good for a couple hundred bucks and the "collecting" part is free or extremely low cost. Picking stuff up on my way to and from somewhere or scrap generated from the shop fab projects.

A little tip for the barrel. Drill 2 holes just under the rim at the top, opposite each other. Get a piece of chain and 2 D shackles, or something similar. this makes it much easier to lift on trailer, with a fork, and place where you want it. No need for a pallet. If you keep it out side drill a few holes in the bottom just above the ring, so rain will run out.

We have "scrappers' around here that will take just about anything. I have no idea how they make any money especially at the price of gasoline today, if I set something metal out at the edge of the road it's gone in a day or so. Good idea for using those foundations, but realize a confinement lot will quickly turn into aud bog. Our barn lot was about an acre and it only grew a few weeds and was a muddy mess in the Spring and any other wet stretch. We did have a rock reinforced road to get to the corn crib, but even that got iffy at times. Livestock's hooves just churn up the ground.

Evan, you might consider a small dump trailer. We purchased an old farmstead about five years ago and we have taken over 60,000 lbs. of debris and scrap to the dump and recycle. It really made a hard job easy. Our scrap yard and dump does not unload fir you.

When we moved from Florida to Missouri and there was so much junk everywhere, we got a roll off to help with the cleanup. We have so far loaded 3 of them and now picking up more stuff ready for another one. We have 2 big buildings, one for my stuff and one that my wife can park her car in, along with tractor and a trailer. There was a small metal shed that my wife said to take care of. So with the help of the tractor and bucket and using the forks smashed it into a small amount for dumping in the next roll off. I use to love tearing up junk at work with my forklift and sometimes maintenance would call me for more fun.

Suggestion = if you are going to use that acre as a winter holding pen, what about building a Shed over one of the old grain bin foundations so the cattle are not standing in MUD. They would be able to bed down on something dry. You know how cows and pigs end up tromping in the winter when it rains & snows then melts and the animals turn evrything into a MUD HOLE. Pete had that problem in his barn this last spring.

I have a friend or two in Kansas who scrap metal and they have people bring their scrap metal they won’t just get rid of it they don’t pay them they just say bring it by will take it for you and like many people they just want to get rid of it specially farmers and stuff and they divide their items of metal out in their field basically like you said,… Big autos or farm equipment (of course the rubber tires have to be taken off)… they don’t have time for you to bring it there and then started messing around with removing tires… And then big metal like your dumpster barrels etc. and small nuts and bolts in another pile and then wire etc. and he just saw Judy as a system. Then he watches the price of metal and he will drive a certain distance according to the price of metal, and because he’s got so much farmland, he can afford to wait for the price to go up or down and he will haul on the days that he can get the most money on that day. You’ve been doing it for quite a while so he knows what kind of money he’s going to make and how far he hast to drive to get it and of course you have to calculate the price of gas in your cost as well but he actually makes a very good side living off of it and he’s an auctioneer as well. I used to work for him and his sons and his wife and myself and one other gentleman all worked for him until my mother got cancer and I had to move to Iowa, to help support not only my mother but my siblings in her care and I understand he’s giving up the auction business now and just does the metal recycling business and I believe his wife said he was tinkering in a couple other things as well I’m self but, for those of you who are interested there is money in sorting and hauling metal if you want to do it even if you just do it for yourself. You just have to watch the market!!! I really like your videos because they’re interesting and you’re different almost every time and you’re real in terms of what you’re doing and farm life and you’re not trying to be somebody you’re not and I just really value your show Cancun and yourself!! If I haven’t said it before do you have a beautiful farm Home & Farm land and I can tell you take pride in both❣️❣️❣️❣️

In my area in the US we can put about anything on the curb for monday garbage pickup day. Any metal will be picked up by scrappers before the city trucks arrive.
