I was very pleased with my afternoons short visit to the station in Northamptonshire. Filmed 13 locos in the time I was there. Made two mistakes with numbers 66703 should be 66704 66503 should be 66504

Thanks for sharing those good clips. Seems freight trains are the main visitors of this station!

The Freightliner to Tunstead has come from Bow East sidings. Coming up is a direct service via Temple Mills without a break, but on returning the path is broken into two at Willesden after coming round the North London line. Great action Mike.

Great video 😀👍🏽 Railfreight have reverted to total diesel now for freight trains south of Crewe, because of the high price of electricity 🤔 Apparently they don’t have fixed costs for Electricity like the passenger TOC’s, so they are subject to price variations. It will be a rare site now to see an electric loco on a Railfreight working south of Crewe 😧
@antman09ful13 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment which is not 100% right now, as Freightliner have started using a few class 90s again. But thank you very much for your continued interest in my videos. Mike.

@@antman09ful1 thats good to hear as Electric haulage is always preferable where there is catenary to support it 😎👍🏽 The article in question about this can be found in the latest edition of Today’s Railways, perhaps there has been a change of plan? 😀👍🏽

Plenty of freight there Mike, you can't ask for more than that - apart from the fact not too long ago you would have seen a 70, 86s, and 90s on some of those workings and not just 66s of course.

Great video. Not a lot in the way of facilities at the station, there is a chippy on the village, however not sure on whether open for lunch. Late afternoon golden hour can be amazing, 66s, 90s etc.
@antman09ful13 жыл бұрын
Thanks Phil for your info regarding the chip shop, the double headed 66 should of been 90s but there is a cut back on using electric locos. But I did notice today 4M87 had 90s on to Trafford Park. Cheers Mike.
@phil37403 жыл бұрын
@@antman09ful1 Chippy is open 11.45 am- 2pm. Also why not try the rural Watford Crossing which is between LBK and DIRFT. Fantastic long shot of the trains coming up the hill and tonezz each way lol. Take a picnic or a pot noodle though for the mid afternoon gap. Take my lad there for trains and building a camp in the wooded area.
