I believe Mr. Dan Blocker was a really sweet man....just a big teddy bear with a loving heart.

I believed no other actor was more suitable for the role Hoss Cartwright than Dan Blocker.

When I was a child, and rode competition for a stable- I was able to be around Dan Blocker's horse. When he passed, the stable bought his horse, and I was allowed to groom him. Big privilege for me!

I adored him. I loved the episodes when they were about him. I cried the day I heard on the news about his death.

Blocker was awesome. The big Hoss with a heart of gold. In fact, all of them were great, Little Joe, Hoss, Adam and especially Ben. Still love watching them today on Bonanza.

A gentle giant, anyone would be proud to have him as their brother. I wasn't born until 1973, the year Bonanza finished. My grandfather and I would watch this show on reruns on terrestrial Irish TV in the late 1970s. Bonanza brings the memories of my childhood with my grandfather flooding back. Thank you Bonanza 😊

The character Hoss that Blocker created on Bonanza was a loving, gentle and beautiful person that everyone loved - He was taken too soon … as too many are - Thanks Dan 👏👍🙏

Hoss or “Horse" as many a guest cast member called him, was a great man and character. Most educated member on the set of the Bonanza. Hoss is a favourite.

With the death of Dan Blocker "Bonanza" was dead. He was the BIGGEST star of the show in every sense.
