Its the debut title and passion project from a new director at Fromsoft and long time souls lead designer(I think it was Bloodborne he worked on). It has Miyazaki's blessing, but Miyazaki is not involved. It's basically Elden Ring meets Monster Hunter (But not really) meets Vampire Survivor. You build your character during the run by obtaining equipment, choosing different upgrades vampire-survivor style and such, explore dungeons to get more even more powerful loot and other rewards... and prepare for the final night to fight the main boss of the run. Seems like some boss fights will have strong Monster Hunter emphasis/vibes. Based on your performance on the run you can unlock permanent upgrades for your character. You can play solo and offline too I think, it has its own unique story and it's rumored to be priced around 40$, no MTX, you pay and get the full package.

Here's what i got from the trailer: 1) Fromsoft convergance, includes everything from previous games. We saw Fire Keeper, Nameless King, Centipede Demon, Wall Running, Parry, Blast and Hook arm from Sekiro, we saw someone looking like Maria pulling a dagger next to the Roundtable Hold's table, we saw a three headed dog that somewhat resembles that one Bloodborne boss from the Chalice Dungeons. 2) You can now damage and even interrupt an enemy's grab attack ( 1:50 )

for some info for yall as confirmed by interview ishizaki did -this isn't being directed by miyazaki, but instead ishizaki who is the combat director of DS3, bloodbourne, ER, Sekirou, and also the map designer of DS1 -this was pushed forward by miyazaki himself for his own team to make a you could say a spinoff of the asset that fromsoftware owns -when erdtree dropped, there was some talks about pushing for a monster hunter + fromsoftware game -this was also inspired off that one mod that allowed real time coop in ER

First off, I don't think this is a Miyazaki game so I'm not sure it's taking much if really anything away from the next title he's working on. However, while I'm very, VERY interested in seeing From branch out and even give other teams a chance, I am very hesitant to get excited here, yet incredibly curious. Main reason it seems iffy to me is cause it doesn't necessarily look very inspired, there may be a good chance they took some popular mechanics, slap it on a popular title and call it a day. Being derivative isn't what made From legends

A little bit of backstory for the game. This game takes place and basically a different reality. But to the extent, we don’t really know. It could either be a what if scenario or simply a pocket dimension from Ranni. But the big thing is that the bosses from dark souls are direct bosses from dark souls. DS Twitter confirms this that they are remnants of an age of fire. So it seems like this takes place after DS3.
