I’m pleased to see that Jocelyn had the courage to refuse to dive as she felt uncomfortable, rather than pressing on with a situation that wasn’t right for her. It’s so important for everyone to stay safe around water especially in tougher conditions and in the dark too. Well done for keeping that part in and showing that awareness.

She’s lucky she didn’t grow up in a Hawaiian family!! In da water you go, as a baby, traditionally we get tossed in the ocean not a pool, there’s a chemistry a spiritual bond as we were taught. That’s probably why we feel inadequate when away from the ocean. But my kids crap they hit the water without me chucking um in lol! They stole all the fun from me.🤟🤪 ML&Aloha Braddah 🤙🏾🤎💪🏾

@@diegoruiz7600 He’s saying he’s glad that she refused to something she wasn’t comfortable with and you’re calling him a weirdo? A lot of people will do things they aren’t comfortable with just because they don’t wanna be embarrassed. It’s great to see someone who is sticking with themselves.

Hello Taku and Jocelyn! Longtime watcher of your channel but first time commenter. I grew up in the Bay Area back in the early 70's and now live in Anacortes, Washington. I followed your recipe from this video but substituted scallops for the lobster and it came out so incredibly delicious!!! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures and wonderful recipes!!! Cheers!

“When in doubt, don’t go out” is always a smart call. Always another night to dive. Very tough conditions while you guys were down here. BUT, let’s go dive some calmer spots soon

Taku: A few things I noticed. First, your promotion of Truff was so good that i was like s professional film/ad company made that segment. Second, as a diver, mostly scuba and on the east coast, I say you are spot on about Jocelyn not doing the dive. If she isn't comfortable, especially with a surf night dive, there is no way she will have fun and could lead to something worse. Many, if not most dive accidents are attributed an inexperienced diver getting in over their heads, (no pun intended) Education and experience are the keys. Third, and I've said this several times before, your knife skills are worth the price of admission.

Aloha, used to night dive for lobster on Lanai for years. Scout your water during daylight att your going out at night. I would spend hours hiking down a beach, so I knew conditions would be good after work. Low tide/new moon/low wind/swell/clarity, and a trusted dive partner. It takes time.
