(1) I did not want to be with her. (2) She was wearing new shoes that had literally cut into her feet (and I had accidentally stepped on her feet). And, no, I am not running a "con." The woman appeared wealthier than I was and I had been to her city, which is a lot more prosperous than Baltimore. She did not appear to be some poor Third World woman who just wanted a way out. I did not support her family. I never sent any money to support her family, I never promised to send any money to support her family, nor did she ever ask me to. Try again! In actuality, what does not come through in the report is that my wife gave off many indications that she *couldn't* be scamming me. For example, the day I took her to the airport, I questioned her about whether or not she had done anything to the apartment. Her response was so convincing, she made me ashamed that I had ever doubted her honesty. Of course, I learned a few hours later that she had stolen almost everything with at least one other person's help (and probably more). What I didn't realize was that she was working with a group. A lot is written about romance scams, but this type of scam is not one I had read about. Even people familiar with scams are surprised by this one. P.S. Women in more traditional societies care less about age difference and women in other countries respect academic accomplishment. They get married at much younger ages than women do in America and are generally more chaste. They care more about finding a good husband than a cool guy or even a rich guy, although of course all women care about the man's money, including American women. If you want to have several children, it doesn't make biological sense to marry a woman who is 45. Or are you claiming I should go out of my way to pursue women who have fewer attributes I find positive?
