You hand out guns to everyone, this is what happens. Not everyone will be mature and responsible. A parent will gasp and immediately take the kitchen knife away from the hands of a toddler. Reasons for doing so is blatantly obvious. Apparently the same urgency is not shared when it comes to guns. All excuses are just that, excuses, and no shortage of hypocrisies when it comes to gun ownership because people love their possessions and hobbies.

@@Losttimes1992 See, that's what people always refer back to, that they like to think of themselves as some patriots and constitutionalists. YOU may be one. I don't know. But from what I've seen, these gun lovers are just hobbyists, who got into gun culture through movies and video games, and they dont' want their TOYS taken away. Because last time I checked, when you ask the SAME PEOPLE if they were willing to ACTUALLY raise arms and fight for the country, they wouldn't. The new generation of gen Z gun owners were on social media trying to create a movement to dodge the draft also. Some "patriots", huh. As I said, MOST gun advocates are just hobbyists, and they like to keep parroting the phrase constitution, but when you ask them if they'd be willing the serve the country, they will back out. And there's the hypocrisy. Again, YOU may be different, and if you are, you have my respect. I just can't stand hypocrites.

These parrots always stop by my grandmother's house in South El Monte. I believe they recognize her very tall Cypress trees and use the area as one of their resting points. It's not just a few birds. It's about 50-80 that fly together. The last time I saw them was earlier this year. They were on her neighbor's roof and powerlines that time (usually see them on the top of her trees). It's truly a magical site to see and hear them. You feel like you're in a jungle. They rest for a good 5 minutes then fly away. I'm so sad right now. People are so cruel and don't deserve to be on this earth.

📣 Cleo rehab's birds, squirrels, racoons, skunks, etc. She's well known and does work around the clock. Donations are certainly accepted and oh so needed as this lady is working over time to help animals. We are so blessed to have her do what she does.

I remember seeing them in the city when I was a kid I had the same thought they escaped a pet shop and multiplied in the city becoming the local bird with the pigeons but its heart breaking people trying to harm them theyre harmless if you leave them alone they'll leave you alone.

Are the parrots from a pet store or did they travel here from elsewhere and just stayed? I originally thought it was a pet as the flock was quite small many years ago, but then there was a segment about the parrots being wild and had travelled here and never left. They are interesting birds but also destructive. I was in the area for a while during covid and a flock decided to perch in a loquat tree in front of the house. They camouflaged quite well and ate up pretty much all the fruit. They came by every day for almost a month. Then the last time, they perched on the power line and squawked. It was quite a site and very loud. Almost like a scene from the birds.

They’re highly annoying, I’ve had them in my yard at the crack of Dawn day after day for months, making so much noise and mess. I’d never harm one despite their being a nuisance. I called the city for help and they told me “tough luck”. If you don’t want people shooting them, devise a plan. Do something like build a sanctuary for them at the Arcadia Arboretum or at La Canada Descanso Gardens. They’re beautiful birds, but they’re a nuisance.
