Probably a better idea to use actual facts. The minimum wage in California is 17 dollars an hour. Fast food workers are getting a bump to 20 and health care workers get a slow increase to 25. People think we are living in the 60s. Labor is expensive. But the key here is try living in any place in USA on a 40 hour workweek at 17 an hour. Like 700 a week before taxes. Unfortunately, it's something called the Tragedy of the Commons. A few people abuse a public resource (like a park, or trust that delivery drivers won't eat the food they're delivering). Causing the park to get polluted or trust in delivery drivers to degrade. Causing others to stop caring, so more people pollute the park or start eating the food. Until eventually both become unusable. The solution for food delivery is for the restaurant to put a tamper-proof seal on the food packaging. That way the driver can't eat it without breaking the seal. Unfortunately, GrubHub and similar companies built their business on not cooperating with the restaurants. So there's no incentive for restaurants to do this. Eventually someone will figure out a successful business model which satisifies the restaurants, drivers, and customers.
