@@oseasdagdag I did my homework. You are misinformed. Just because the government tells you they were here does not prove they were. And even if they were, the fact is they were not here for 100's of years. The facts is NOAA relocated them to our islands because they competed for resources with apec predators in the NW Hawaiian islands. Just like game mammals need management and culling. So do the seals. Read the info on NOAA website for yourself. There is zero hard evidence that would prove what I am saying is wrong. The fact is, how many seals can a specific coastline sustain before a tipping point like what happened in the NW Hawaiian islands?

@@The.Hawaiian.Kingdom A State of Hawaii (SOH) law, HRS 115, guarantees PUBLIC access to all beaches owned by the SOH. That law dates to 1974. It has NOTHING to do with "natives". That law does NOT create access to Hawaii beaches which are NOT owned by the SOH (like federal property).

Whenever you suggest to a tourist to be cautious and leave the honu alone they look at you like “who are you to tell us what to do” and continue their fuckery. Watched a lifeguard yell at tourists at Black Sand, no impact whatsoever. An elderly man came up and gave them all the “grandpa” speech and they finally slunk off but geez, what does it take?

Like I've posted on another video, POST the FINES $50,000, as of now the sign just warns them, but there is no penalty if they don't comply! 1:10 just has numbers to call, post you can be fined up to $50,000 and jail time!

Long before Hawaii had any federal or state laws protecting sea turtles, Hawaiians caught them, ate them, and used their shells to make things. No fines, no going to jail, no "scolding". But some local folks love to hate tourists, for touching sea turtles (or for any other such "crime"), even though sea turtles have been caught, killed, and eaten by "locals" for decades and even centuries. I support not killing and not bothering turtles, seals, etc. But more have been killed by locals than by tourists.

Any beach in Hawaii is subject to harassment of endangered sea life. You can beg and plead but some folks don't know any better and some folks want a selfie with a sea creature. The turtles and fish have a mucous coating on their skins/shells. When we touch them, we break that mucous coating and they are then vulnerable to infection and disease. Leave them alone, take photos, but don't touch. No No No. Big big fine! $50K
