Your videos are immensely helpful. We're almost iced over here in NH. Got our first beaver, first time trapping, processing and cooking one. It's excellent!

Good job. Thanks for all the ideas. I use them all the time. I save the S hooks off broken tarp straps and use them to hook together the top of the H stands I use. that fastens them quick and easy.

How much do you weigh Scot? On how thick ice do you feel comfortable walking on?
@330Maniac2 жыл бұрын
I weigh 200lbs. I honestly go by if I can punch through on one chop with my chisel but a solid 2" of clear ice along shore I'm on with

Why do you throw snow on the hole?
@330Maniac2 жыл бұрын
To cut down the amount of light in the hole so they can't see the trap

Time to bust out the Marcum so we can see what’s going on down there 👀

you ever fall thru the ice?

Why do you put your trigger facing down on the H stands? I've always put mine facing up or to the side. I also thought you said in one of your videos that fur damage can occur if the trigger is facing down.

You’ve commented on disliking H-Stands due to the crossbar not allowing the trap to sit on the bottom. Have you ever removed the top crossbar? Cutting that out should allow it to sit lower. Thoughts?

Dang rats, I know I've missed beaver because of them. I still haven't figured out if they are just visiting the hut or they live with the beavers. One set a couple of yrs ago had 4 rats before I got a 50+ lb beaver out of it. But my joy is a leghold and a castor mound set, just something about pulling one in by smell
@Trapper_Al2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree James, I love drowning foothold sets but on 330 sets, if I suspect rats in the area, I move the trigger way to one side to give them room to pass through.
