Oatcakes! The unsweetened ones from Orkney are perfect for clearing your palate. Tasting packs can be good for trying before you buy, even though the small bottles are a little more expensive. I have the 12 and the 14 (Spiced Apple and Soft Smoke). I like both, but prefer the 14 if I had to choose. I'd like to raise a glass of Wild Turkey 101 with you this evening Jon, in honour of Big Al McVeigh who left us a year ago today. A kind, funny, enthusiastic soul, who's bravery over his final months was nothing short of astonishing and inspiring. To those who are with us still, and to those who have gone before us... We hold you close in our hearts, in our thoughts, and in our memories. Suaimhneas Siorai Air...rest you well dear friend, rest you well 🥃🙏🥃 "m"e 🇨🇦

Cool little set. Loch Lomand 12 was one of my first entries into scotch and if memory serves me right I quite liked it. The 14 was also tasty. I agree, these little gift sets are great for try before you buy a bottle. Wish companies released more of these in Canada. Cheers Jon.

I don't think I've had the 14. I should look around to see if it still available. Thanks for dropping in, cheers!

I like the 14 as well but not as much as the 12. The 14 is definitely a flavor bomb, and I find a grapefruit note in it that sticks out a little too much - but that said, it’s still a great dram, just not s balanced (to my palate) as the 12.

Again a nice video. The only Loch Lomond I have is the 18, but not the Inchmurrin. I am getting dark fruits like raisins, dates and figs. No spice to speak of and a wiff of smoke/peat. Quite nice. Slàinte Mhath!

Hi Jon! I hope you’re staying warm - it’s cold here in Michigan. I’m so glad to see you review the Loch Lomand 12 - my all time favorite under $50 Scotch. I voted for it in the People’s Choice budget category in the 2024 OSWAs. BTW, I think does contain coloring, but it is non-chill filtered. I’m hoping you’ll review Balblair 15 soon - another of my favorites that gets very little attention these days.

So glad you enjoy this. Really, it adds colour? rats, I thought was just the way we want it. That said, it is a tasty affordable dram and non-chill and 46% makes it a great pour. I need to get to that 15 .... I think I had a taste somewhere, but I don't have a bottle yet. Cheers!
