My son received a quilt when he was hospitalized at 1yrs old from Project Linus. It was absolutely wonderful to have something handmade that reminded us of home while we were going to be staying at the hospital. They also provided a stuffed animal for him to play with. It ment a lot to us in a time that was difficult and your donations will help bring comfort to those who need it ! ❤

Hayley, thank you so much for the donation and the shout out for our organization. I showed Wendy your video and just wanted to post to say thank you. We greatly appreciate you and all of our donors who help us keep the donations flowing (think we have about 100 quilts about to go out the door). Thank you again and keep up the great work.

I love the quilt for your sibling. I think you are so kind to be giving your other quilt and tops to a charity, Those 2 you have alike, the trip around the world are beautiful, I love them, just a lovely jester of love. Aww your baby quilt gift, love it. Oh! I love your table runner! You know I am 71 and when I started quilting we used bleached muslin for the backing of quilts. I still use that a lot. Oh I love the carpenters square! You did an amazing job! Congratulations! Yepiee. Oh I love the carpenter's square! you did a wonderful job!! Don't forget to do the label on each and every one. People want to know who you are and what town and state you are from and what year it is. I am going to give you a tip if you are serious about buying more fabric. It is top quality, just like FQS. Which is where I buy most of my fabric BUT here are a couple of places you can buy at low prices. Green Fairy quilt shop, and Elenor Burns "Quilt in a Day" Subscribe to both. Congratulatons, catch you next time. Enjoyed the video. I take a photo of my quilts, I write down the size, the designer of the pattern, fabric designer and when I made it and where the quilt is now. I always label my quilts.

For what it's worth, we can be our own worst critics. Go easy on yourself Hayley, I am 71 years old and wish sometimes that I would have given myself more grace in my younger years so that I could have enjoyed the journey more. Thankfully, I have learned and am now loving each and every adventure. Quilting is more joyful and seeing how the recipients react is heartwarming. Keep up the good work and enjoy!

I think all of the quilts were lovely! It makes my heart happy to people do charity crafting. :) If you take a look at the Three Yard Quilt patterns by Fabric Cafe, most of the lap sized quilts fall into that size that charites ask for and it's super easy to pick up 3 coordinating yards of fabric at the store. Thanks for sharing everything!

Your quilts are awesome and there's nothing wrong with any of them! I've been quilting since 2011 and I'm a firm believer that quilts choose how they want look, despite our best efforts at following patterns. I love my quilting gloves from Swan Amity, they're a little pricey but so worth it. My garden gloves made my hands sweat and I tried machingers and they got so loose and weird after only a few uses. I turn my Juki that same way you described because I have a sew steady table that requires it. I love that you're donating quilts, I've donated to my local Project Linus. Also, eff the old mean quilting ladies. There's space for us younger quilters and makers. It took me many years to get comfortable with FMQ but once you get it, you get it. It helped me to think of FMQ like drawing, except your pencil is the machine and the quilt is your paper and the thing you move is the paper and not the pencil. A lot of it has to do with your speed vs the machine speed. Great work and beautiful quilts! 💖💖

You are so funny. I LOVE truck shows. Thanks for that. The first baby quilt feels boho to me. Not my fav color story either BUT very popular. Someone will love it. I will be back. I use a graph paper journal to design and make notes of the pattern and the fabric line if I have it.

I love how fearless you are with your quilting! You go, girl! And you’ve only been quilting for a year? You’re awesome and have a great attitude towards fulfilling your creative goals with gusto. Next time you have a bigger quilt to do FMQing on, you might try starting in the center and working in quarters from the center toward the edge farthest away from you. That way you’ll be letting the bulk of the quilt lay in your lap and you won’t have to roll it at all. Just bunch it when you need to rather than roll it. I quilt California king sized quilts on my Juki 2200 QVP Mini (straight stitch only) with an 8-inch throat. I turn it sideways like you discovered and that really helps a lot. I don’t roll my quilts, but just bunch them as needed. I also rigged up a way to prevent the inevitable drag that occurs with a very large quilt by suspending the sides of the quilt. I bought two curved, wrought iron plant hangars that you would attach to a deck railing, along with some huge plastic clothespins- all on Amazon - and mini bungee cords. This setup works beautifully to lift and support the quilt overhang on each side of the machine. Of course, there’s a lot of adjustment going on in the process, but I enjoy the process, knowing that I created every aspect of a wonderful gift for someone to enjoy. Sorry for the long post. You’re an inspiration…keep those videos coming!

I stumbled across your channel and so happy I did. I absolutely love your personality and how you just “go for it” when it comes to quilting. I have been quilting for over ten years and you have more courage than I do. Love it. Just keep doing what your doing and sharing. Your doing so good. Also my sister used to live in Wilkes Barre PA years ago when her husband was stationed there. Looking forward to more videos from you ❤

Love all the Quilts!!! I just started English Paper Piecing and I’m addicted. I saw a reel of someone quilting their own with their regular machine by going into the stitches setting and picking a decorative stitch like a wavy stitch and then changing the stitch length to spread it out and then quilting in lines with that. I thought now that is something to try! Thanks for sharing your quilts!!!

Have you watched how Donna Jordan puts together a Trip Around the World? She’s owner of Jordan Fabrics. It’s a Christmas quilt but the technique is very interesting; I’ve never seen anyone do it like her. The fruit on Haley’s baby quilt, I believe, is Zen Chic.

Greetings from a fellow quilter🥰 I immediately recognized the HN baby quilt fabrics, such a cute line up of hygge inspired prints. It’s called ’Lazy Afternoon’ by Zen Chic for Moda Fabrics. If you follow quilter Pat Sloan, she made a free FQS quilt pattern called ‘Fruitcake’ from a fat eighth bundle of this fabric. Hey, quilting is a journey! Finished is better than perfect 😂 (yeah, I know….it’s a hard pill to swallow sometimes) may all your quilts be snuggled for many years♥️♥️♥️♥️ free motion quilting! Way to go! I tried and felt discouraged….I’ll try the stupid gloves 🤣🤣🤣

Please don't be so hard on yourself. You notice all the little blips because your face is so close to the project while working on it. Each quilt is an opportunity to learn which increases your skill set. Quilts don't have to be perfect or beautiful to provide warmth and comfort to the recipient.
