Peter. Thank you. I’m here in the Los Angeles area and although I am not fortunately affected, I know numerous friends who have been affected by the fires. The watch is beautiful, and I take special pride that it is from Southern California. Again, thank you for the support and thanks to Loci for donating.

Love the floating indices and the design and length of the hand sets; and the CA detail on the caseback. Great overall design.

Great review, Pete. I saw these at a watch fair in 2024 and they really impressed. Thank you for bringing some focus to the LA wildfire crisis. In times like this, it’s important to use your platform to remind people of ways they can help.

About $200 too much, but would have been a contender for a spot in the box had I not bought 3 watches in the last 2 weeks. Some belated restraint this time. Thanks for the review.

You're probably right Leon, it could be a few dollars less, however the build and finish seems on a good level for this one 👍

Great review, Peter, and I appreciate the insight into your reviewing process. I think these designs are winners, and look forward to future releases from Loci. I actually like the crown design as it appropriately resembles an automobile tire.

In Latin, “loci” is plural (therefore “places”) or genitive singular (“of the/a place”). Either way, I like the watch. 😊 Thanks for another great video, Pete!

Personally my preference is with either of the other two dial variants. I dont mind the date. It seems well placed and there is enough visual detail that actually it recedes into tge background well, while seemingly remainig legible. I very much enjoy the shaping lf the case, though the integrated rubber looks a little coarse as s design language to my eyes. The depth of the springboard indices is kind of nice, but I think I would have been more appreciative of solid apllied indices with greater depth. While ultimately that's less important, the caseback design indeed is very pleasing and interesting to look at. All in all, a promising debut.

I really like the design, especially the dial. It's not easy to pull off such an asymmetric pattern and make it look good, I think they found the perfect proportions and positions for the yellow lines. I also would have gone without the date, in particular because there are already minute numerals at the other indices. But overall I really like it. The price is maybe a bit on the higher end. Since I live in the EU, customs would come on top, but if you are in the US, I think the price is good. And you also support a good cause. I will be donating in another way.

Good on you for focussing on the California disaster, there but for the grace of God we go too. Pete you missed the most important part, Richmond colours!!! I spotted that crown sticking out first thing I saw,pity. I like the date especially at 6 but I wish they would add a frame, it looks like an afterthought otherwise. There are some lovely dials but I think atA$1K for a quartz it’s a bit high,for me anyway. I could get another Gin Clear in black with an SW 200 for similar money. Good review as always👍

Nice and yes I've always thought that 80% of watches with a date window would immensely benefit by not having the date complication at all. The remaining 20% being mainly perpetuals and moonphases, German big dates, some field watches, and the Horizon Pilgrim.
@KarlPoorbaugh11 күн бұрын
While I like watches, and good looking ones, a date is crucial. I wear a watch, not a bracelet. It's a nice tool, the more it can do, the better. That should mean a Smart Watch, but ya gotta draw a line somewhere.

I don't particularly like watches where the motif is too literal. In my opinion, it would be better if for example they used an asphalt inspired texture and a yellow hand

Yeah, let's smack a "Swiss movement" in the case and overcharge by $250-300.... there's no reason why they couldn't go with a Miyota 9-series which is equally as good as the SW200-1.

@stevespell963412 күн бұрын
Agreed with the crown, shame it just looks like it’s not quite in properly. Drilled lugs big 👌👌. Take it’s the quartz is a Ronda 515?? Such a shame quartz versions don’t have a a quality thermo compensated movement with sub 20s/y accuracy, still be lots cheaper than mechanical but it give a proper gap in accuracy.

Thanks for introducing this brand to me, live here in Texas and wasn’t familiar with them. They have Automatic and Quartz version of watches, know which quartz movement they use?
@LōcīWatchCo12 күн бұрын
The quartz is a Ronda 715, the fully Swiss made 5-jewel version (there's also a less expensive 1-jewel version of the 715 that's manufactured elsewhere).

Terrible as the fire is, and it is terrible. I don’t see how the richest country in the world in one of the richest area in that country needs my money. 🤔. People need help, shelter and someone to talk to work out how to rebuild their lives. They don’t need my money or my to buy a watch that sends them money. Nice piece it’s not Low-key it’s Low-k-eye. Not convinced by the double yellow stripes, in the UK they signify no parking. $150 over priced for both on the face of the video. Nice piece tho. Quartz one makes more sense to me. The date is fine, especially at 6 o’clock. Floating indices are nice. If I was remotely close I would help in a heartbeat.

It's important to be careful about choosing which non-profits one donates to, making sure they're trustworthy and effective. But the reality of the impact natural disasters have on people and communities is more complex than you may think. Many middle- and working-class people have also been impacted by the fires, particularly around Altadena. Even in Pacific Palisades there were trailer parks and folks living in homes they bought 30-40 years ago before it became as upscale as it is now...they are not rich. Many "regular people" also worked in the small businesses that were destroyed and now find themselves without jobs. The non-profits will take care to direct their assistance (i.e,. the output of money people donated to them) to the people most in need, not to millionaires and movie stars who don't need a handout. I know this firsthand -- I worked for a disaster relief non-profit and have spent more time in disaster areas than most people, doing exactly this kind of work.
