Lock Haven 2024

I flew into Lock Haven on Wednesday, June 19th for the annual "Sentimental Journey" gathering of Piper aircraft. Piper Aircraft manufactured their airplanes at Lock Haven for decades. Unfortunately, Hurricane Agnes in 1972 flooded the factory and Piper moved everything to Florida.
Unfortunately, and extreme heat wave hit Pennsylvania. I suspect this held back the number of airplanes and participation. For me, it was terrific. I have attended this event since it started in 1986.

I made my first solo in a Piper J-3 in 1955 when I was in high school. N3531N (I think?) I worked for Piper Aircraft for 10 years in Lakeland, FL on the PA-42. It was a great place to work until they folded and went to Vero Beach. I didn't, since I had 3 kids in the Lakeland school district.

Beautiful!! I work at the Piper Aviation Museum. I was fortunate enough to at least get some air conditioning when I wasn't outside! Heat was brutal!

@@royernest7740 I do to. Nice airport, I have flown in there once just for fun. I hope the city doesn't move forward with their plans to close the airport.
