This game introduced me to air combat simulators. I learned how to bind keys, do maneuvers, control weapons & radar. I mean took me months before I actually was able to dog fight properly. 🙂 this was a good sim

Me neither, then my dad helped me out, told I have to learn a lot how basics and logic of those systems work, like for example how RWR works, then also keybinds, what does what, how to bind it, how to use it and so on.. It went pretty fast after that, before it I was clueless, but it was manageable, its nowhere near the level of where DCS is right now.

@@WarMachineTank You can still try getting Lock On Flaming Cliffs 2. Its system requirements are much lower than DCS but it is like a better looking and more advanced version of LOMAC :) You will even get to play with the Su-25T in it.

It usually explodes either due to loss of radar lock, flying out of range, or flying too low for the SAM targeting system to track. Only on computer controlled units though.

It will depend on the nation you use; America or the Soviet Union. America's lock on is automatic, USSR's is manual. Use the LETTER KEYBOARD portion numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 to select the kind of scan mode (the smaller the keyboard number, the greater the range) and then use the "tab" key to lock onto the target (once again, if it's American, it's automatic)

@@WarMachineTank Um I've learn about Soviet radar and fired some missle, only American's are a bit hard, i still haven't managed to fire it (pressing space but only gun firing),also the lock looks weird, i can't do it properly.

@@KhanhLam777 Using the numbers above the letters on your keyboard, select 3 (vertical scan radar) or 4 (bore/direct scan radar) for medium to short range lock on (~14 km or so). Just point the airplane until the enemy is inside the circle, wait for it to lock on, and if it's a successful lock, you will see a small triangle or star (depending on the missile you use) near the enemy target on your HUD. If you are using 2 (BVR = Beyond Visual Range radar), you have to manually lock onto the target the same way as the Soviets do, using the target acquisition screen on the bottom left of your cockpit (it's near the throttle)

Hello Shawn, I did not actually download this game, I bought it years ago on a CD-rom at a computer electronics store called "Fry's". Hi "starbattle008", I used another program called "Fraps" to record my Lock On gameplay. The game itself lacks recording capabilities.
