Not only did Thailand give me an incredible taste and yearning for the wonderful chilli, Ive never enjoyed using lime in my cooking as much as I do when im cooking Thai dishes. Thai cuisine drew to me to Thailand and Marion keeps drawing me there through all of these ideas and recipies. Every part of the senses are used in every dish. Because I can hear chillies laugh. They love to giggle.

Ikr, my mind was blown I love Thai food in general then I went to Thailand and the food I was having at restaurants back home just could not even compare to how amazing food and flavours in Thailand were. I wish I could go back, but Rona 😪

I just make this. It was delicious! I didn’t use salmon, just flounder that I had in my freezer. Fish fell apart so I went with the flow and make it sort of shredded fish. Still really good though. I toasted quite a bit of the rice to save it for my next batch. Thank you Marion for such a great recipe!

My fav thing about Marion's recipes is that they always are so doable, not like a million steps. Just need to find palm sugar and I'm off to the races.

@jellybeansbud36103 жыл бұрын
@@aljocammo765 it’s when you grill something atop a cedar plank you’ve first soaked in water. It’s great for delicate things like seafood especially. Keeps it off the grate but also adds a terrific smokey taste to the food

Made this salad yesterday for my French Chef mum inlaw and she thought is was just ok compared to everything else I have made from Marion that she so enjoys.....crispy 5 spice pork which is a regular in our household and theirs and the Jaochae and beef peppers and so much else. I guess I will try Marion's other salads as well.

I only used 1.5 tbsp of palm sugar, and some nam tok seasoning I had in the pantry. Added a kaffir lime leaf, and a small pinch of galanga for an additional kick. Really good! We might substitute the salmon for ground turkey or chicken for next time.

We used to have this, minus the flourishes, i.e. salmon, noodles, ginger, garlic, lime juice and soy sauce, when I was growing up. It was one of my favorites. It wasn't based on Thai cooking though because we'd never had or even thought of Thai food at that time. I like the different dressing you use. When I was a kid and no one was looking, I'd add frozen baby peas and...mayonnaise! That was to keep the peas in the salad instead of all falling to the bottom of the bowl. Kids can be so creative. ;) Thanks!

In the Ststes I buy Botan Calrose rice for Japanese dishes or for recipes thatcdall for sticky rice. Wash first 3 or 4 times before you cook it. I use my Zo Jirushi rice steamer and cooker. It keeps rice on warm, up tob3 days. It's great for Jasmin rice as well. 8 had Tiger brand when we lived in Japan. Zo Jirishi is just as good.

@countyfair743 жыл бұрын
I entirely sure I'm right. I think glass noodles are made from mainly mung bean starch, and they are translucent when cooked. Rice vermicelli noodles are made from rice, they are more firm when cooked. Glass noodles are lower in the glycemic index.
