Chevy is always following Ford. Raptor came out in 2010. It took Chevy over an entire decade to respond? Damn. This is a truck, not an airplane. Chevy “might” offer it in a twin turbo V6…. What? Like Ford’s Ecoboost that’s been out since 2009 or 2010. Amazing.

Really like the new ZR2, but I think they should have tried harder for 35s and IMO its a huge miss to not have toggle switches like Ford/jeep built in. I would have happily paid a lot extra to get that in my f150 since doing aftermarket tends to look really cheesy. I also think rock sliders would have been something to set them apart from the ford tremor, as youd certainly need em on a full size with 33s

I am just a little bit disappointed that it didn't come with 35's. Especially in today's off road vehicle market. The shocks are proven quality. So you don't want to give them up. In order to stuff 35's under it. I think for the overall design and "multi function " use of the truck 35 's would be suitable enough. Beyond that you are getting into suspension changes and although would be cool. Your taking away from the ability to have a great everyday fully functional off road and on road truck and keep the factory specs.

I'm about to hit the 3 year mark on my Colorado ZR2 and I've been very happy with it (only real complaint was stock tire size, I've done the AEV High Mark flares to fit 35s). I've been looking to move into a larger truck because I'm no longer traveling solo on my adventures. I had nearly purchased a Ram Power Wagon but after two test drives I ultimately decided the extra 2000lbs of weight and truly abysmal MPG weren't going to work for me. The Raptor and TRX are just not made for the payloads I'll be carrying and I've been pretty underwhelmed with the Tundra TRD Pro specs. The big question will be price... if Chevy can get this to market at least $5-7K under the Raptor I'll be all over it.

The only thing worth having on that ZR2 is the front locker, other than that it's just a face lift Silverado. There's many current gen Silverados out there that have way better suspension/tire/wheel setups for offroading that aside from the not having a front locker they outperform this new ZR2. I'm very curious if the aftermarket will bring about options for adding a front locker to the current gen or if the ZR2 locker will fit into the current gen given their shared engine/transmission. Overall, a step in the right direction but so much more could've been done to make it a true Trail crawler right off the lot (33's...come on!). Oh, it does have a nice interior though but for most of us who beat the trucks up it probably doesn't mean much. Not bashing on your video at all. Very informative. Just bashing on the truck.
