Watching this after an old video of LPL picking a simpler Medeco [130] really makes me appreciate it more as a lay person. Very well done video.

This is just as good a way to understand this lock as disassembling in person. Very well done sir.

Superb video, narration and graphics and animation. Thank you and please keep uploading. We, the general audience, are laymen and not lock pickers, things (e.g. terminology) that are simple and obvious to lock pickers are incomprehensible to us. We appreciate videos that explain everything and from the beginning and one thing at a time.

I worked for a lock shop for a time. One of my first jobs was cutting Medeco keys for a major contract. All the old locks in the doors of a very large building were being replaced with security locks. I don't remember exactly how many keys there were, but I know that I cut somewhere around a thousand, a job that took a week or two. The cutter had to be adjusted for every angle and depth by hand, and the angles and depths were different for each. That was a very demanding task and we had to account for every key blank to Medeco, including the ones that were incorrectly cut. Again, it was a long time ago so I don't remember the count, but as I recall, I messed up less than a half box's worth of blanks. I was quite proud of myself when the work was finished.

Great video. Really gives a more indepth explanation of how these locks work by way of a video animation. It's definitely easier to understand how something works if you can actually see it working from a cut away view.

Holy cow! I love this explanation. I tend to be the last person to grasp doing a task, because I am way over-thinking things. But when it clicks for me, it REALLY clicks, and I tend to be an 'expert' of sorts. Not bragging, it is just how my mind works. Wow, I said all that to say----This video was amazing. It filled in so many holes I had.. Is there a video on dimple locks in this format?

The problem with the Medeco locks is over time the side bar becomes more difficult to actuate and you have to jiggle the key several times to get the core to rotate. I have these locks on all of my exterior doors.

How does the spring length in this video compare to the actual locks? Looks like there is plenty of length there, so are these keys susceptible to oversetting the key pins all the way into the bible allowing for comb picking?

не будут такие делать, слишком точный механизм и не износоустойчивый из за грязи.
