I have this set on order from Costco and wanted to dive into all the features. After 9 years with our current LG set we're ready for a larger size to accommodate a household that now has 6 people. Also, after years of diligently leaving the door open, running tub clean, and draining / cleaning filter we can't get rid of the funk! Thanks for your solid review James.

Glad my video helped Dustin. Let me tell you, you’re going to absolutely love this new set. Coming from my 13 year old set, these are light years ahead. The tub sizes alone and a HUGE upgrade. Of course you’ll still need to do all of the routine maintenance you mentioned, but you for sure won’t have any funk. These fit a lot more clothes and my wash times are cut by 40% for sure. Enjoy!

I have the LG wm4000hba and also use Alexa. All you have to do is select the washer or dryer in the Alexa app under devices and toggle on announcments on. You can also select which Alexa devices you want to be announced from when your washer or dryer is done. Very nice feature to use.

Thank you, James. You did a great job on the presentation. Very thorough. We feel much better about our decision. Just wish it had the detergent reservoirs to hold detergent for 20+ loads and autofill as some competitors now offer. But for the money after seeing this I am not sure why their Signature set is $1,500 more (with pedestal washer) for roughly 10% larger washer capacity. We are going with this model as well. On sale right now at Costco with pedestal washer and installation, free haul away, etc., for $2899.00 and buying the year 3-5 warranty for $219.00 that includes replacements if they cannot be fixed.

Thanks for watching Rick, I appreciate it. If I’m not mistaken, if you use the Costco credit card to purchase these you’ll get an additional 2 year warranty at no extra cost. So, I used my Costco card and once the bill came in I just paid it all off. For the price and the warranty, plus haul away and install, this deal can’t be beat. Costcos warranty is one of the best I’ve seen. Love their hassle free return policy. As far as the set, you’re going to LOVE them. I’ve been using them since this video and don’t have one complaint at all. I know they do offer a set with the automated soap dispenser, but the tub is a lot smaller. I agree with you as far as the signature series. I couldn’t justify the additional cost to only gain a little more tub size. You have a great rest of the day Rick. Thanks for watching.

I couldn’t agree more. My old LG set lasted 13 years and the dryer was still working just fine. It was only the washer. They do make great long lasting products for sure. You are absolutely going to love this set. It will do twice the amount as your old set in half the time!

Appreciate the in depth review. We purchased this exact setup from Costco yesterday. I’ve been trying to find the pdf manuals for these products to see what all is included in the box. Just to confirm, will I need any additional items besides what is included in the box and the items you mentioned in the description to hook up and use all the features on the washer , sidekick and steamer feature on the dryer? Or have any other suggestions to add since this video has been posted? I am going to throw out everything that is attached my wall that goes to the washer and dryer to start fresh and clean out the ducting prior to Costco install Tuesday. Thanks !

Congratulations on your purchase. You’re going to absolutely love this set. I’m forgetting everything, but I would say, buy two sets of the steam dryer hose kit and two of the washer and dryer hose kits. That’s way you have your bases covered, because I totally forgot the install I did. Amazon is awesome with returns, so just return what you don’t need. Get the gas hose connection kit too. I wanted all new hoses for everything as well. You’ll need it. This set has been working perfectly with absolutely no issues. You’re gonna love it!

Absolutely! They both have the steam feature and will work as long as you have the kit to run water lines to the both of them. You are going to LOVE this set. We’ve been using them weekly since this video and have had no issues. Compared to our last set it does twice the size load in about 40% less time. We’re very happy. The wife and I bought this set (older model) a few years back. In the last 4 years, we've barely used the pedestal washer meant for "cold water only" - maybe less than 10 times. But, the washer/dryer combo has been incredibly reliable. Just one issue: under no circumstances should you place detergent containers directly on top of either of the units. This will result in the paint finish being damaged.

Glad you’re happy with your set. As I’ve stated in the video my older LG washer and dryer lasted 13 years. I do detail my own cars. So, being able to throw my car rags in the pedestal washer while the main washer does the regular clothes is awesome. I’ve used it about 4 times now. As fast as sitting detergent on top, I learned that the hard way years ago. That’s why you see towels on this new set. Plus having the squeezable detergent bottles I’m using.

You’re welcome and yes, you can do a rinse only cycle. You go into the app and download a cycle called “rinse spin”. Then, turn on your machine and turn the knob to downloaded. Then, select the rinse spin download in the app and start the machine.

These absolutely come with power cords. If you order this set from Costco, they do the complete setup and install. When they leave your home, these will be fully functional and ready to use.

They all get wet just fine. The machine senses the load and the it starts to wet the clothes. It will tumble the clothes around and add more water accordingly. Been using these machines for over a month now and they are amazing. Everything gets wet and cleaned very well. It applies the right amount of water according to the load. Plus it can handle a bigger load and reduce washing time by 40% vs my old washer.

The WM8900HBA doesn’t have the ez dispenser. Neither does the one in this video which is the WM8980HVA. The only one I remember having the ez dispenser when I was looking was the WM6700HBA Thanks for watching. 😃

What is the total height from floor to top of dryer with pedestal, i have 54” from floor to bottom of my cabinets above, doing the math i am about 3/8” too short, how much adjustability is there in the feet of the dryer?

Yes, without the feet on the bottom being adjusted you’re right at 54 inches. But, my feet are adjusted and mine is sitting at 55.5 inches.

4 to 6 inches from the wall to the appliances. Every dryer has/needs a dryer vent hose. That hose is about 4 inches in diameter. So, you’d need at least that much for the hose that connects from your dryer to the vent in your home.

Yup, they sure do. But, as I stated in my video one of the delivery drivers got hurt at a previous stop, so they couldn’t do my delivery/install upstairs. One of the two men could only drop off my items in my garage. So I hired movers to bring it upstairs and I did the install myself. Because I needed my washer and dryer ASAP. I didn’t want to wait another week for Costco to come back and do the install. I needed to get clean clothes right away.

Well, you have to remember your dryer has a vent hose coming off the back that you need to attach to your homes duct. So, that hose is 4 inches in diameter. So, at minimum you’d need 4 inches on the dryer. The washer could be closer I suppose, but that would look odd having the washer 2-3 inches and the dryer 4 inches.

The total is 3399.99+ tax. That includes delivery, setup, haul away your old set and a 2 year warranty all from Costco. You get all 4 pieces you see in this video. Other stores carry this same exact set, but in a darker color. That’s why the model number is slightly different at those other stores.

My wife and I still have our Teslas. To me, Teslas charge faster, better audio system, pin to drive, better overall UI, better handling and a few other things. But, the Rivian is still a great vehicle. Specially if you need a SUV of this size… like a Tahoe or Escalade. Having all this room plus it seats 7 and it’s electric with 380 miles is pretty darn good.

Then I guess it will go in the drain directly beneath it. Ever since 2004 I’ve had my own washer and dryer. I’ve never had a leak to this day. Not saying it couldn’t happen, but it’s never happened to me. However, like I stated before. There’s a drain directly underneath the washer. It would go in there.

How’s the vibration level on these with heavy or light loads. Curious if it’s still super quiet. 3 rd try at Samsung and I’m not liking the vibration level as laundry room is on second floor?

They are very quiet. My laundry room is on the second floor and I’ve had multiple big loads in. If it starts to wobble at all the washer can detect it. It will slow down automatically and readjust the load before spinning fast again. Best washer and dryer I’ve ever owned.

While I can’t speak for all Americans as you say, I can speak for myself. When I buy things something that is a factor for me is saving time. Time is more valuable than moving my case. So, if I can do all the laundry in the house in 1 load in a big machine and be done in 40 minutes. Vs 3-4 loads in 3 hours in a smaller machine, I’m buying the bigger machine to save time. I can now do other things outside of my home or focus on yard work and not have to worry about going inside to switch clothes from washer to dryer.
