Awesome classic EMD & GE locomotives move a caboose past me at a level railway crossing in Sardinia. This is short line railroading at its best! The caboose is a remote control caboose that was used on a rock train shuttle a couple years ago. Listen to these unusual locomotives! The train horns are really cool and these locomotives all have stories to tell. This video shows 5 locomotives and the remote control caboose. Sardinia is the railroad capital of Brown County, Ohio. This is were they are maintained and stored. I have videos of all of them in use except for the green one which hasn't been put into service yet. I also have videos of the caboose on the rock shuttles that were operated by a single conductor with a belt pack. I am a huge caboose fan and I have 3 caboose compilation videos that show cabooses in use. I am working on a fourth. This video shows the CCET crew moving the caboose to the opposite side of the black GP49. They pull it past me and do the railroad switching on the main and then shove it back into the house track in the middle of the Sardinia wye. After that we see the locomotives head eastbound to work Cohen Recycling in Macon, Ohio. I filmed both sides of them passing me for your viewing pleasure. The Cincinnati Eastern Railroad CCET is really getting busy. If you want to see more of it just join my FaceBook group that I started a few months back called Cincinnati Eastern Railroad Fans. Filmed October 1, 2020 CE. Thanks for watching! Check out my steam train playlist for some really cool videos including the Big Boy! I also have other railroad videos of all types. Just confirmed it! That caboose is the remote control from the MMA consist that was involved in the big oil car disaster in Quebec. This video at 34 seconds shows the caboose they used is clearly the same one kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH-rl353qbediK8 I though I recognized that one!

This isn't the same former MMA Caboose from the Megantic accident. VB1 a former CP Wide Vision Caboose was the remote unit that rolled through the town with the engines, ahead of the derailing blocker car and tankers behind them. photos.nerail.org/s/?p=75301 www.lapresse.ca/actualites/dossiers/tragedie-a-lac-megantic/201407/23/01-4785995-lac-megantic-la-locomotive-du-convoi-meurtrier-est-mise-aux-encheres.php kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYewf6amhchrkMU It is of course one of 4 Vans (caboose) I believe that MMA used to own with remote equipment that they could couple to any power consist.

I’m not really sure what they accomplished. But, one thing is for sure, JT is always where the action can be found. He is particularly good at finding what is good ‘ole fashioned railroading! JT gives me fun stuff at my old age. He is like a family visitor who drops by to say hello and offers good conversation. Thank you!!

I love that black and white loco, and a caboose right in the middle!! To bad the caboose wasn't in its usual spot, that caboose had a vintage charm, its not the bright red its usually depicted of having. I wish I had that house in the background,I'd be out there everyday enjoying the trains!! Pretty background, must be very cozy looking in winter.that guy In the back if the caboose is lucky he gets to take a ride on it,and the horns aren't as deep as other locos, but are sweet sounding, esp if u live there at night, thanks again jaw tooth, the ten thumbs up!!

Thanks Debra! Sardinia is a nice little town. I have filmed trains there in the winter and I will be this winter also. Now that there are more trains running through Sardinia I should be able to film one in the snow. I have videos of the caboose on their trains from a couple years ago when they used it for one summer. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Like that old Norfolk and Western piggy back trailer in the yard. Used to see old NW hoppers with the same logo and lettering on them (and old Southern hoppers) every so often up here on BNSF in WI up until about a year ago. Now you only rarely see old Southern hoppers as buffer cars on oil trains.

Another wonderful video to make my day. Gotta love the contrast between the newly painted spiffy job and the switcher, which looks as if it was numbered as a afterthought. What really makes your videos so watchable and good for repeat viewings is your commentary. In other videos we’ll see the trains go by. In your, we learn WHY the trains are going by, and this is what raises it from an “eh” to a “wow!” Don’t ever change. Just keep up the good work - and especially the commentary. In fact, we could use more. Your remarks about Sardinia in the Comments section would play so much nicer in the video itself. When I watch these I often wonder about the towns the railroad goes through. Just a suggestion.

I'm sure some of you guys are fans of the movie Runaway Train from 1985. I love the part where Jon Voight says they just blew away the caboose. You can even watch a special on KZbin about how they did the stunts. It's one of my favorites. I've Loved trains my whole life. When I was young my uncle took me down to the tracks where I Grew up. And we got the climb up on locomotive. I think he knew the engineer. And then when I work for Cintas in Charlotte we used to service the Conrail yard And I asked the guy if I could come out some time with my son And see the engines up close. And we did. I think it was near the Fourth of July and it was hot as hell. And then it made it even hotter when you get near those big engines. I also had a friend in Ohio who used to work for Conrail. He was a conductor.

They used the caboose a couple years ago as remote control. They had a one man crew. He would operate the train while standing on the ground next to it with a belt pack. @@stormeskyelynn07 Its fun to film trains. Putting videos together can be a job though. I'm not that good with computers and I had a hard time figuring out how to put videos together. If your good with computers its not too bad.

I missed all the excitement last Saturday. A train with 8 or 9 m/t tank cars derailed going into Drumm tank wash. Some fell in mill creek. They had to use my company's property to get to it. I was on vacation. By monday all that was left was some wheel sets.

Oh wow! I had someone send me a text about the derailment on Saturday. I was on my way to camp out so I didn't go film it but it would have been hard to get close anyway. Thats cool that you work down there. You probably see some cool trains

They bought both B36-7s from TTI Railroad out of Paris Kentucky. TTI is owned by CSX

@@JawTooth On google earth you can see a grade that keeps going and going it looked like to me. No track anymore but it looked like an old rail grade that just kept going but I didn't follow it till it ended. I might be wrong and its not a old rail grade but it sure looked like it to me that there was a line off to somewhere. You're the expert on that area though. So idk? Thanks. Stay well. -Wil 👍
