Hi Delilah, I have a video suggestion (if you want it!) - I am struggling to work out how to do toy rotations and I know you do them for your kiddos. I'd love to see a video on how often you do them, how many toys you put out, how you decide what to put out and what to put away, how you store the toys you've put away, whether you involve the kids or surprise them with the finished result, etc. It would be so helpful! You mentioned not having any videos planned so thought I'd mention it. And as always, great video. Thanks for all your efforts (and honesty!), I love your content.

When my daughter was little I dressed her in all of the colors that I liked. She then got older and no matter how often I suggested soft pastel items she gravitated towards darker, deeper colors. When her daughter was little the same progression happened to her. (I enjoyed hearing her complain that her daughter wouldn’t wear what she picked out for her, lol!) In seeing all of the kids clothes in the bins I’m pretty sure that I see some neon pinks and greens in your future, lol!
@silverscapes96283 жыл бұрын
Yep. Children often gravitate to the opposite of what their parents like, just cause it feels new and fresh. My mother loves neutrals and dark tones, I love bright colors and cannot stand greys or anything monochromatic in my living space (I don't mind it in other people's houses, but not in mine).

I cant believe people put duvet covers on this way... There is an easier way! Lay it out right side out pull the corners of the duvet into the cover and match with the corners of the cover and hold the 2 corners one in each hand (making sure u have a grip on the cover as well as the duvet inside) and shake!
@shlqx11293 жыл бұрын
I often do it in my arms without laying it out, just put the cover inside outside (I often get it like this in the process of taking it off) then put your hands inside of it where the corners are (you end up just having the cover rolled on your arms, there's no need to get inside of it), grab the corners of the duvet and while you hold them both like this you just let the cover fall off your arms gently as it flips itself over the duvet. There's three simple moves and the work gets done pretty much by itself :) so easy

I love the baking soda bedding back. I use it because we have dogs and their dander gets embedded. We even use a waterproof liner sheet. But curious if you turn or flip your mattress? I notice the side you normally sleep on is looking a bit deflated. That’s when it’s time to turn it. We do this in our house every 6 months to keep the wear and tear even on the mattress. Also, if your back has been hurting after sleeping, turning the mattress can improve your back pain too.
@nikkisweezea23883 жыл бұрын
That kind of mattress, with a pillow top, can't be flipped because the pillow layer is only on the top. It can be rotated, though. But, I find, with 2 people sleeping in it, it doesn't really make much of a difference.

We just used face cloths (or washers here in Aus) back in my time of babies. Just wet them at changing time. Cloth nappies were flannelette when very young toweling as they got older. Hand towels were burp cloths. This is back in the 70s.
@ikjft3 жыл бұрын
Each to their own but I am a little blown away from the ammount of wet wipes, isnt the biggest motivation to use cloth diapers its impact on enviorment? I tried but didn't get the hang of the cloth diapering (too many leaks), instead we used less plasticy diapers (better for babys bum) and pottytrained asap. But wet wipes? I only used them when I was staying over in a place with no running water with baby, all other times I used running warm water to wash the bum.
@vidz9533 жыл бұрын
@@ikjft that's awesome you did that - good for their sensitive skin, too! For our family the motivation is both money and the environment. That's why we both cloth diaper and launder old t shirt pieces in place of wipes. I'm a SAHP, though, so the time factor isn't a huge burden.

So many wipes! Would you consider using washable wipes once you are cloth nappying again? We have 40 bambino mio wipes and have never needed disposable wipes at all - even during the meconium phase! And they would last for another baby too hopefully as I know you wanted to continue to grow your family. Our baby William didn't fit in pockets until maybe 4/5 months old? We used folded muslins and covers until them and loved them. All the best!

I feel you! We had our first baby a few months ago. Thankfully I was very clear that I didn’t want a lot of stuff (and my family lives out of state). The good news is you can pass on whatever you don’t need or use! My biggest tip is if you’re not sure about items or clothes, don’t unbox them or take the tags off. It’s much easier to sell or pass on if it’s still “new”. 💓
@frida_173uhl43 жыл бұрын
Loved all the wholesome content as usual ☺️ but that duvet "hack" .... I can make your life even easier: the cover needs to be inside out, you go up into the right and left top corner with your hands (don't stick your head in as well though 😋). Then (with your hands covered by the cover -sorry haha) you grab the two corners of your duvet's short side, pull your hands up and shake the cover over the duvet (hold on tight to those corners). Obviously this is a bit more difficult/ heavier with a big duvet but give it a try. Everyone I know does it this way🤷 takes less than an minute, including zipping or buttoning the cover. Greetings from Germany ✌️
