My husband and I tried for 11 years and suffered an early second trimester miscarriage in 2014. One month into the pandemic we found out we were pregnant with our rainbow baby. He was born November 23rd and will be six weeks old on Monday. I'm 36 and never thought I'd have this chance. I was in shock when I found out.

I lost my first trimester baby last night. Something I love about motherhood is how much joy I can hold for you as I grieve my loss. At first, it stung when I saw this notification flash on my phone but now I am crying tears of joy with you. Our other babies are all the same age. I'm currently recovering from a miscarriage, and it gives me so much joy and hope watching this. Your celebration of life at such an early stage of pregnancy encourages and fills me with peace... it makes me feel seen. With miscarriages, it's easy to try to excuse it as being "early", or "for the better"... but we should rejoice and mourn over life regardless of the age. I cannot wait until I'm in this season of joy and new birth again, and thank you for sharing this vulnerable and raw moment. It gives me hope for what the future can bring.

When the words "no matter what happens" showed up on screen...man I felt that. I respect you so much for sharing this so early. My husband and I had the same approach to my pregnancies, wanting to honor the life whether or not it was ever visible to the world. To glorify our Messiah with the truth whether or not it hurts.
