Yep would be nice to see this home with its kitchen and bathroom(s) and final grade with improved views if this were mine I'd have that covered porch extended to cover entire porch so rain and snow stay off it as much as possible and drain into yard.

Years ago there was a tv show called Coach with Craig T. Nelson. Towards the last season he bought a log cabin out in the woods that was gorgeous. It had a circular stair case up to the second floor. What was cool about it was by the front entryway and it was inside a glass block tower. Wish I could get one like that.

When building a log siding home make sure you have larger roof overhang to help protect the siding from the sun's damaging rays. Or have shade from tree's , the sun will ruin wood finish in just a few years. Just my observation.

I’ve always wondered the reason why porch/front door entrance lights are almost always put on the exterior closest to the side of the door that opens? As opposed to the other side of the door. Only because bugs/moths flutter around the light at night wouldn’t it keep more bugs away from the open door if porch/entrance lights were reversed from the door opening? All my respect to this channel, company, family, tradesman and their beautiful product.

NIce log home!. Im used to colorado and it looks out of place on that terrain, stair rails a litlte loose. some of those logs look a little water soaked and rough. The edges on the trim should be sanded down to finish. Must be some place warm, I didnt see a fire place. Overall its about price point. Hope we get to see it finished.

There was a dip in the ground with sitting water. If it rains significantly, the basement will be flooded. They will need a French drain.

In certain parts of the country, all wood doors that go to outside are not recommended due to heavy humidity. Wood can age quickly. I believe this may have effected the decisions on outer doors.

@@PrathamZ no, he calls them can lights. Same thing as recessed lighting. They make poles with rubber things to swap bulbs. And theyre for the people who want overhead light and bright rooms. I prefer the old fashioned log home feel compared to the 1990s and on. I just dont like those facades we cant seem to get away from. Im all for large windows, just dont like that particular look

Working with logs as opposed to drywall. What I always imagine most with videos is the aroma of the wood, especially those with cedar and pine.

Frame interior walls will be added and wiring plumbing and ductwork runs in these walls and in the floor and roof cavities. The frame walls make it simple.

The bow juts out to far I to the deck. Someone in a wheel chair would not be able to navigate the full deck area. The overall look is very nice. Would like to see it finished also.

It'd be great if the porch were wider around the prowl. I was disappointed that there was no fireplace and the kitchen was empty. Is that the way they are delivered?
