@The_whimsickal_artist2 жыл бұрын
Exactly...I mean they mention the statue of 🗽 liberty fight. I thought days of future past fixed the WHOLE timeline but I guess not. It's okay though that Logan's "world" is different. I think Mangold took broad strokes when it came to canon. He made allusions to previous movies but didn't really care about fitting it into a strict timeline. And it was all the better for it
@danielobrian56752 жыл бұрын
To be fair, "Logan" takes place in it's own timeline separate from the original (X1, X2, X3, The Wolverine) and Days Of Future Past alternate timeline ( Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix) which makes the whole movie non-canon to the already established universe. This movie was originally made to serve as a final and official send off to Hugh Jackman's version of Wolverine. To make things more clear, X-Men: First Class and certain elements of Days Of Future Past exist in both timelines. That's where the timeline splits in two. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is soft-canon in both timelines since we see glimpses of Wolverine's fight with his half brother when he recognizes Stryker in DoFP. Also the fact that the adamantium procedure takes place in both timelines. Deadpool (both movies) gets the same treatment of having his character exist in a different timeline. Overall, I wouldn't wrap my brain around it so much. It's easy to use the alternate timeline excuse to cover plot holes.

"What a disappointment you are." I think no matter what Logan said or could've done, he always would've disappointed Charles. Wolverine was one of Professor X's top pupils. Sometimes Logan carried that accadamy on his back... but no matter how much he sacrificed, no matter how many disasters he prevented, and no matter how many people he saved... it would never be enough for Xavier. Mostly because that's not what he wanted for Logan. Proffesor X wanted Logan to live, not just exist day to day. Wolverine was to be the champion and herald of a new age of mutant. One who could live with humans *in peace.* But Logan, time, and time, and time again proved to be what he was designed to be... *a killing machine.*
@vuxluongw Жыл бұрын
then that's Charles' problems then isn't it? maybe his methods are just way too pacifist for this mutant vs human problem. humans would rather weaponize mutants (even enslave, if possible, as shown in this movie) for their own gain rather than joining in a parley, and Charles knows this better than anyone else in the mutant community. yet he still chooses to "show them a better path". so either he is incredibly stubborn and stupid, or as Mystique puts it - loves to control other people.

I like this movie more than Endgame because it emphasizes the realism of superhumans in society. Showing how fucked up the world is. And it’s criminal that this film didn’t receive any Oscar nominations. The Academy is a fucking joke.

I came to this video just to find out why he called Logan a disappointment lol idk why. Does anyone know why Charles said that to him? Or was he just angry from his current state.

This film makes it looks as if those who sacrificed themselves in the Sentinel War (the Free Mutants and Mutant Underground) and were not restored or not shown to be restored in the new timeline died in vain.
@hal5603 жыл бұрын
I believe Beast made a comment about how the timelines would correct themselves after time travel. I guess if mutants weren’t wiped out by Sentinels in one timeline, they were wiped out by Alkali-Transigen in another. There was no way for mutants to survive, which is a horrifically bleak ending to the franchise.
@tsukopara20542 жыл бұрын
Logan is a separate timeline to Days of Future Past because it references The Last Stand, X-Men Origins and The Wolverine. None of those movies happened in the new Days timeline. Logan takes place in a unique timeline where Days of Future Past happened, but it didn't alter the timeline enough to erase those above movies entirely.

In the sentinel world, everyone died, there was zero hope. While this one was bleak, there was some hope through the small mutants that they'd come back.
@danielobrian56752 жыл бұрын
@@tsukopara2054 I guess you're right. We see/hear numerous subtle references, we even see a samurai sword hung up Logan's room when he dozes off. Charles mentions the "Statue Of Liberty" as homage paid to the original X-Men movie, he also mentions Logan's former 'career' as a cage fighter which was how Rogue met him in the first movie. In a deleted scene both Charles and Logan mention Jean's death in X3, one of the kids asks Logan if Sabretooth was real and he makes a slight reference about the latter being part of the Weapon X program, which even though he really wasn't, he was still part of the covert-op Team X. I can't recall exactly who said it but it was mentioned that 'Logan' takes place in it's own timeline separate from the rest of the movies. My best guess is that it takes place in a universe in which The Sentinel threat didn't exist thus being replaced by Alkali-Transigen. This universe so far includes the original trilogy, X-Men: First Class, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine, rendering any events partaking to Days Of Future Past non-existent/irrelevant.

Wolverine may have saved the world and mutants onec. But it obviously haunts him that even thoe they stopped the Sentinels from being the end of the mutant kinde , what did it change. Atleast in the original timeline he had what was left of the Xmen and Charles was Atleast still in good health but in this timeline everyone is still dead yea sure the world is great but his stuck with admantium sickness and Charles is practically a killing machine that needs to be drugged every few hours. And his the only one who has those memories and he has too look at the world and think what was the fucking point.
