It's really annoying that Logan has gotten away with rewriting history around the forest. They didn't stumble across it- they looked for it. They went off the path and kept talking about what they would (excitedly) do if they found a body. Their guide tried multiple times to get them to stop wandering. And when he found what he was looking for- he zoomed in on the face and hands and used the photo of the man swinging as his thumbnail. Logan wanted all of that to happen. He thought it was cool. He has never changed. He has always been a self serving man whose out of touch with reality and only cares about fame. That's it. There isn't more to this. He just sucks.

I thought it was repeatedly said in this video that Logan Paul made no financial gains through this, and in fact he is offering people some measure of reimbursement from his existing ongoing revenue streams -- which logic says cap the amount of reimbursement he can offer -- and he simply isn't offering to refund the full amount that people were competitively offering for popular NFTs? Since they presumably *_retain_* those NFTs, unless they sell them, then there's no objective harm. Any NFT is fundamentally _worthless!_ I don't think I have ever heard of "Logan Paul" before, and while I have seen "Coffezilla" in KZbin titles before, I have _definitely_ no knowledge that such an entity existed. I always thought it was a derivative of "bridezilla," referring to people in general who are irrascible without coffee! So definitely no dog in this fight.

Saying someone pulled a 'Scam' is not a legally binding remark, it's a subjective sensation as to whether a person feels the goods or services are of adequate value to the cost incurred in obtaining them; ie, these massages are a scam, they don't even include a happy ending; the pizza topping fees are a scam, you barely get any pepperoni. This isn't to say that it's illegal, just that you don't think it's justified. I think it’s pretty well understood that when you’re the public face of an exciting new project, you are also the public face of the scam it turns out to be. Also, Coffeezilla didn’t accuse Logan of conceiving the idea as a scam from the outset, he accused him of failing to do due diligence before attaching his name to it and hyping it up. Coffezilla didn’t focus on Logan to increase his own clout - he focused on Logan because LOGAN HAS DONE THIS BEFORE (and since), and he wanted people to stop putting their trust in him.

In my opinion it was a scam and Logan is part of the scam. Zoo tokens and eggs were sold. People would be told they would be getting a game to use these items in. The game was never delivered and there has been no effort to offer everyone who bought tokens and eggs a refund. The current refund offer is very limited and only covers eggs.

The refund scheme also, dubiously, makes people essentially sign a waiver to say that they won't pursue legal action about the scam, if what I've been told is right.

Now in Paul's defense he DID make a full plan while thinking of consequences in that Japan video. It's just that his plan was ALWAYS to find a corpse (why else would he wander off the trails against advice of a guide, gleefully giggling all the while about what he would do 'if' he found a body?), and he thought the 'consequences' would be internet fame and loads of clicks and adrev from his moronic fans. He was wrong, but he DID plan it.

I doubt he'd get anywhere with that, the best way to go and the way everyone is telling him to go is to file a claim against his brokers errors and omissions insurance policy- he specifically asked for defamation policies and the broker sold him a policy which explicitly didn't cover defamation and claimed he didn't realize it because he didn't read the entire policy. That's 100% on him and his e&o should cover it

No criminal charges were pressed, his KZbin channel wasn't permanently banned (iirc, it took like a week before youtube did anything but I could be misremembering). Like, Paul should simply be permanently banned from youtube. He should not have a job as a youtuber anymore just like how I dunno, a police officer caught in corruption should never be a cop anymore. Not to mention a week later paul uploaded a video of him zapping a rat. In the scheme of things, idc about this event, but it shows a lack of character, and a lack of personal change.
