One thing Terrence Howard helped me realize is that people can function normally with something missing. In this instance we are so controlled by anger towards a period of time that we don’t realize we are missing a bigger problem. If the word was negative then no one should say it. However we accept it culturally as positive yet want to gate keep who says it. Either we turn it to a positive word and let the anger go or we turn it negative and keep the same energy all across the board. However us black folks feel like something was taken from us and it has! So we hold on to what we can, if we could find a way to gain back what was lost we would be able to move on
