Link every single YS tape and every album except Under Pressure have multiple lines about being biracial. Especially Everybody. So when he says “I’ve only talked about race on 2 albums” it’s a lie. He spend 60% of Everybody talking about biracial struggles, and I mean talking. TITS had 3 songs on it with multiple lines about his race I think. And it’s scattered across his YS tapes and his BT tapes have a couple on them ass well

Yeah tbh. Like there's a time and place for his positivity but that really... Doesn't jam well with a song about suicide. Alessia Cara's part is really the only part that moved me, Logic's verses were... Meh. He should stay in his lane, talk about anxiety, and not speak on the behalf of people who are actually suicidal. The way he talks (in interviews) about his experiences with thoughts about death isn't very reflective of suicide ideation (the kind that actually translates into actions) anyway.
@DiabolicalPaperClip6 жыл бұрын
Hey Marcy, late reply but I agree, Logic is a positive kid and I like him as a person and he clearly wants to do a good thing but the song itself feels impersonal and not productive. Alessia has a lot of soul in her voice so it worked a bit for her but still wasn’t great. Still mad props for him for managing to up calls to the suicide hotline drastically though.

Sparked a bit of beef as it was a blatant ripoff, that being said Joyner did talk about his ideas with logic’s producer and obviously logic got to hearing about it and ran with it.. and did a good job, but it was Joyner’s idea.. he should come out and say he was at least inspired by it and set things right.

Does anyone else find the 1-800 track kind of cheesy? It's basically Logic saying "I want to die," and then suddenly "I don't want to die anymore." I wish he could have explained WHY he doesn't want to die anymore. I can't really be moved or inspired by a song as empty as that. I like the message, and I WANT to enjoy the song, but it just seems dry to me.
@Lucid9257 жыл бұрын
He does explain it and it is actually pretty simple. First verse he is the person calling the hotline saying he doesn't want to live, second verse is the suicide hotline person, third verse is him saying he feels better. It is kind of rushed sounding and all as he only has like 4 minutes to explain. But definitelly one of the better songs on the album. AfricAryan made me want to beat myself to death with a coconut.

logic and other artists create media to serve an audience. if no one understands it and that wasn't what was supposed to happen, it is his fault. Why do we have to indulge in peripheral bullshit like interviews and explanations when he can deliver it in a way that we can understand just from listening? And this album really isn't that complicated, it's just hamfisted and clumsy.
@ultimatlegend7 жыл бұрын
You can understand by just listening all im saying is its not just him saying he is biracial and shit, his goal as he said was to be speaking from a different persons perspective on another topic in each song allthough in some songs he changes the point halfway through which i dont like, he raps about his mother beating him as a child (from his own perspective) he raps about politics, student loans, religion, social media, news, suicide, anxiety thats his point of everybody, its his own style, how many other rappers rap about this shit? all it is is race or just bullshit about sex and drugs, the first time i listened to it i disliked it too, then i listened to it again and it improve significantly, although it is not without its problems i still agree, but to me it deserves more then a 5/10, then again i disagree with needlepoint a lot but he and everyone else has the right to think its 5/10 but i think it deserves more, since he actually tried to rap about real shit, not fake shit.

Not true. Everything logic raps about on this album is repetitive as fuck. Granted he does talk about other subjects than just being biracial, but that sole aspect overpowers anything else on the album. Almost every track is "Hey did you know i was mixed?" we've heard Logic rap about this so many times outside of this album. At this point its just annoying
@gmst97847 жыл бұрын
Wizard DO YOU EVEN UNDERSTAND WHY HE MADE THIS ALBUM??! It's an album to shut up everyone talking about his race and saying everything and everyone is beautiful and special in thier own way. this generation looks at it as corny (overused word btw), because people will think it is weird and a message that is embarrassing. GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT CRAP ARE YOU KIDDING?? Logic ain't repetitive, your comment is irrelevant, logic gets credited.

"Everybody talkin' 'bout race this, race that. I wish I could erase that, face facts" I'm pretty sure at this point Logic's the only one talking about his race.
@PtylerBeats7 жыл бұрын
devilsrule908 he hasn't talked about race until this album, tho. Every time he gets into an interview it's, "How does it feel to be a white rapper?" And black rap fans constantly say "Logic is white. He's whack." And everybody seems to dismiss the fact that he's biracial. Every time I mention that logic is biracial, the person seems to not know that. Every person that makes a "Top 5 white rappers" list puts logic in it with Eminem. Then he comes out with an album where he finally talks about being biracial and now he talks about his race too much. Go to his past albums and listen to how little he's talked about his race. I don't get all the commotion. He talked about being biracial throughout an album that is about race and problems everybody goes through. It fits the theme of the album and does what the album is intended to do. Saying that he talks too much about race is like being upset that NWA talked too much about guns, violence and trouble with the law. It's what they experienced on a day to day basis, so it makes sense that they'd talk about it. We want real music, and then when an artist really talks about what's real in their life, they get hate because they're whining and talking about a certain topic, too much. I just don't get it

Evan D Anthony points were accurate. Logic had a great idea coming into the album, but the execution was terrible. This album had so much potential, great message and Logic finally came around to finding his own sound, but the album got repetitive to me. Some of the tracks (Take it back, Anziety) were absolutely ruined by just talking, instead of rapping. Separate Take it back into a song and an interlude and it's great. But 3 minutes of talking in a 6 minute song ruins the great song. This album was only 13 song, with one interlude and an intro, plus his 3 singles. So we only got 8 new tracks really. This album didn't disappoint me, it just wasn't what I expected.

Considering he is one of the most talented rappers in the came and is always instrumentally good, the lyrics on this album were quite the letdown.

He’s right that Logic is influenced by other artists more than other rappers in the game perhaps are and he can seem to step into these artist’s lane a bit too much sometimes. I assume that Logic is heavily influenced by everything he comes across because he’s constantly trying to see things from other’s perspectives. I would also assume that growing up in the environment that he did made him search for influence from unconventional places just to get by. His ideas may be half baked, but he’s definitely on the right track with his baking. He may be heavily influenced by other artists, but he’s getting some decent influences. Honestly I think he has insane potential, I just hope he gives more thought to his execution on future work.

LBNGaming that doesn't matter when the tracks are lackluster. Paul McCartney could write a song about a toaster and we would all bump it if it sounds good

As a huge Logic fan since 2011 "Young Sinatra" mixtape (before Undeniable), this album is a disappointment. Almost as if he's been "bullied" by haters his whole career and yet wanted to prove to EVERYBODY that's he's not a "white rapper" and that is biracial. And since in 2017, with all this shit going on with equality, of course he did this for the people. With the Chance the Rapper style. I miss the Young Sinatra :(

this album in retrospect is way better than what he's been putting out lately
