Tabby here's my interpretation of the album concept (btw Adam is actually Atom: Logic uses atom as a representation of the human race, and how most , despite our similarities, create divides and kill one another. Logic is saying this is stupid because the human race should be unified through our similarities rather than separated by our small differences which lead us as people to hate and violence. I love this album's concept, but like tabby I'm unsure what to think of it as music. I'm going to listen to it a few more times and I think it will grow on me as I am a big logic fan

Adam is the living embodiment of Humanity. Logic is saying when we hurt one another we hurt each other if someone is in danger we are all in danger. We are all connected. The message of this album is so simple "We Are One". I am you and you are me. Many won't get it on the first listen because we are too addicted to ourselves. We don't think about everybody else even though we should because we are Adam we are "Everybody".

I wish that he didnt have his damn monologues or skits combined with the songs so i could actually listen to those tracks without having to having to skip them when he starts talking. Like the songs Hallelujah, or Take It Back, or Anziety. This shit sounded WAY too preachy too. And I like that J Cole is on here, He had a really good verse, but it sounds SUPER phoned in. It feels like he just wanted to put him on the album because everybody was speculating he'd be on there because of the album cover. Album was eh for me.
@kay9ine1237 жыл бұрын

Instrumentally it's really good, but many of the songs were way too long. It goes from good to corny to good again very often and makes it difficult to listen to the album all the way through. This just doesn't live up to the consistency of Under Pressure and The Incredible True Story :/

as a pretty dedicated logic fan, this album really disappointed me. i was hoping he would prove people wrong and put out something amazing but it ended up being really scattered and inconsistent, and almost none of the songs have any replay value. it was supposed to be about everyone but most of it was just about him. and the parts that aren't about him are very hard to pick up on, so you don't realize he's switched perspectives half the time plus he doesn't even touch on any other race aside from white/black (most of the time painting white people as kind of a villain, which as a white person i generally would have no problem with, but NOT when he said that the album was gonna be some all-inclusive venture that represents all races/genders/sexualities/etc.) i REALLY wanted to like it, but i'm just gonna go listen to the incredible true story again lmao

How you summarize the album is exactly how I feel. I'm a pretty big logic fan and I feel like this is more of a message through song rather than a rap album. Everything you said in your thoughts about the album is basically what I think. He's much more talented rapper than this album give them credit for but I get the messages trying to relay and it's not something I'm gonna go out and be like hey check out this new logic tune off his new album

Everyone: "Wow we get it dude, you're biracial, stop beating this topic to death, it's so stale."

Nah that's fair, I agree it saturates the album and bogs it down due to poor execution, Im mostly talking about the people who think the topic itself is too corny instead of how he delivers it.
@elderarias24997 жыл бұрын
Nomad it's about about how you say it. if you are a rapper you have to come through with bars. Kendrick tells stories other rappers use clever irony or play on words. Logic does none of that. the phrase "show, don't tell." applies to music too. you can't just come say some corny shit like Logic does.
@sumo._7 жыл бұрын
Elder Arias I agree with you, its just that I see a few actually have a valid criticism like that, but mostly people just saying that the concept itself is too corny or stale, when its a concept that so frequently appears in the genre.

Real recognize real. Tabby is always telling it like it is. Easily the most profound first impression analysis there is on KZbin. The rhyme schemes were so similar in this tape not only from song to song but from verse to verse within the same tracks sometimes. I will say it's impressive that he managed to find this many ways to word the same exact message.
@Prab000007 жыл бұрын
this album was pretty underwhelming, preachy, and overall corny... i get the positive message and im all for that but it could have been executed much better. the production was grand and almost maximal but the album didnt really do much for me personally... ya know

Prabhdeep Grewal you know logic once talked about how it's lame to be "corny for being positive" lol foh
@Prab000007 жыл бұрын
its not lame when youre objectively critiquing the music. im sure tons of people will listen to songs like the suicide hotline and feel uplifted, which is great, but that still doesn't take away from the fact that the execution on logics part was very underwhelming. positive messages in music arent corny, when they're done right i.e. to pimp a butterfly... just becuase a song or album or verse is positive doesn't exclude it from critique... "this song is positive and uplifting therefore no one has any right to give their opinion or critique cause its positive and if you call it corny you're lame and evil"....

My feeling was exactly the same on my FIRST listen through. As I continued listening though, I grew to appreciate the repetitive tracks, and even the monologue. This album, on the first listen through, HAS to be listened to from start to finish. However, since then I've discovered it works really well in a playlist with Logic's other works, especially those from Under Pressure, and of course The Incredible True Story. It gives it a feeling as though you peer into the thoughts, feelings, and past of Bobby as you are also listening to some of your favorites of his.

Biggest Con: It's rrreeeeaalllllyyy preachy. I agree with what he's saying but the way he does it just lacks something. The lyrics are very redundant. He brings up the biracial a lot more than he needed to. We get it Logic, you're black & white. The production is really dope. I give it a 7/10. Best tracks: Confess, Ink Blot(the beat is great), Anziety, Mos Definitely, Everybody, The first half of Take It Back, J. Cole's outro. Least Fav: Killing Spree, The first part of AfricAryan mainly because his lyrics are so repetitive.

To be honest, I was a bit let down with this album. I liked it but I know Bobby is capable of doing a lot more. I've only listened to this album once and the best thing about it wasn't even Logic. To me the skits and Cole's verse at the end were amazing. The message that he's overall trying to convey with peace love and positivity, not having to get along but not resorting to murder, all that I fuck with. But Logic himself said this album is about EVERYBODY. But for the most part this is I'm mixed: The album. The message is dope but it means nothing in music if the music isn't good.

After my first listen I was like "is this the album I really pre-ordered" I like the album after about 3 to 4 listens I think it would have been better if It was called AfricAryan because he mostly talks about being black and white. After first listen I have the album 7.5/10 after a few listens I give it an 8.9/10...... The next album is called Ultra 85
@Bitcrushed7 жыл бұрын
I'd give it a 5/10, I was expecting him to make his concept better and not say the same thing over and over, I like some of it but I can't say I like it as much as his other albums
@owenmaggio64727 жыл бұрын
the entire album WAS the concept, you just didnt realize it. Every song is from a different perspective, like the man living all the lives of everybody

People need to actually listen to this album and not judge on skipping through the songs, listen to the album 5 times and say it's trash then. And people complaining what he's talking about, how? Why is it a bad thing I don't understand lmao. I fully rate this album.

Matt/ PsyQo RusKo it's not talking about biracial, it's the fact he does it with no nuance and just shoves it in your face. Even the song about suicide is very surface level with a very inappropriate ad lib. The only thing I can praise on this album is the interesting concept, logics impeccable flow and fantastic production by 6ix.

Fair enough, I disagree but you can have your opinion. I agree that the concept and production is solid though.

you see the thing about this is that if anyone says they like this album, they get torn to shreds for having an opinion. I like the album, I loved America because it reminded me of old 90s conscious rap and I loved mos definitely because it sounded straight off young sinatra. but i guarantee if I didn't disclaimer this comment i'd get 50 comments telling me im a dickrider like I haven't been bumping albums like damn, family sign and food and liquor these last few years.I do like this album and I like the message. fucking sue me

I don't know about anyone else, but I really, REALLY feel this album. Like, I really love this album. The social message this has, the elegance, the vocals, the features, and the whole feel. This is probably the one album that is going to get critically shit on but is one of my favorites.

James Miley so what do u want him to rap about money bitches. He fuckin mad he's betting ridiculed ever since under pressure oooo your white u can't be rapping like that your not black. heck even my cousins hate on them for no fucking Reason . Just cus logic has a white skin color smh can't just enjoy his God am music
@jamesmiley61467 жыл бұрын
David Cardoso Wow, way to go off on tangent. Why do you assume because I said the album is repetitive that I want him to rap about money bitches? Let me ask you a question. Do you think saying im your black and white on every song is creative? Does it show progression as an artist? I get that people think he is corny but I'm not one of those people. I like logic just fine. At some point he has to let back and white thing go, or be in more depth with his perspective. He won't make new fans like this. he'll just lose the ones he has. Because people don't want to hear you always rapping about the same shit again and again.

I tried so hard, SO hard to force myself to like this album as whole but the only memorable songs I can think of after tons of listens are Take It Back and Afrikaryan. I loved logic ever since Young Sinatra 3 and this was underwhelming af

I was absolutely amazed after I heard it because the sound of it was absolutely amazing and I loved the anziety track so much because that's literally what it's like having it and I've never heard anyone rap about it that way. I do think that he could have stepped his rap game up a little and maybe not talk about the black and white thing as much but nevertheless I loved the album and Ima continue to listen to it for a while. 7/10 for me. Still great music overall
