Schools definitely forget the importance of hiring good teachers. Give your students AT THE VERY LEAST a good math teacher. My professor literally just showed us slides with all the laws and then gave us statements telling us to solve them. When we asked how it was supposed to be done, he said to only look at the laws and then for sure we'd get it. We didn't even know what the laws meant. He could solve the problems, but COULD NOT tell us how. Considering the fact that he was pretty young, it sucks having to fill in his gaps. He just couldn't tell what the laws meant, he literally just told us to LOOK. Seems pretty petty this comment, but it frustrates me so much how I've learned more in the 15 minutes it took me to watch this video, than the 4 hours we've spent with him. Thank you for this video~

That's the classic maths teacher mistake. Many gifted mathematicians think in an extremely visual way, but they are horrible at expressing that understanding as language. Trev is an excellent tutor because he clearly understands the relationship between raw visual data and language very well, evidenced by the linguistics courses on this channel.

As a self-centered former philosophy major, I will say that we don't put a lot of importance on philosophy as a country. I always assumed myself to be terrible at math, and then I was required to talk formal logic to get my degree. I almost dropped the second degree because I was TERRIFIED of this class. Ended up with a 106 on the final and a predilection for programming. It's amazing. Not everyone learns the same and because you might struggle with math, it doesn't mean you struggle with logic.
