Excellent series of videos, especially for someone like me who is totally new to Logic Pro and Mac in general. You are my go to person for Logic Pro tutorials. Thank you so much for your hard work. 6:27 I realised that using Shift while creating a note helps to avoid some the frustration you possibly mean, especially if you have used long notes and then quickly want to switch to a beat-sized note. I did this just out of my FL Studio intuition and it worked to my pleasant surprise.

Great series you are making here. I don't own Logic but I consider getting it, so your video's are a superb intro to what I might expect. Does Logic have a strum feature for midi notes, like what exists in FL Studio?

Hello I’m brand spanking new to logic and music production. Do you have a video on music theory and notes and stuff or do I have to learn that elsewhere. If so do you think you can point me in the right direction?

Thanks for showing us the fundamentals. Question: Within the Piano Roll, when I turn on MiDi Out (Control O) How do I get Logic to play a pointer-selected chord vs. playing the individual notes? I am unable to get the Arrow or selection tool to simultaneously play all of the notes of the chord. I am not quite sure... but I think I was able to do that a few versions ago. Even if I marquee select the chord with the pointer tool it only plays one note.

Hello Josh, first of all,thank you so much for all of your teaching. All I know in Logic x is because of you. I have a situation here, and I believe you can definitely help me out here. I use my digital keyboard as a midi controller and the lowest note it has is C1. Now the predicament I have here is there are many (DMD) instruments which use notes below C1, so is there any way I can take the midi keys in logic one octave higher to make them accessible via my digital keyboard. Thanks in advance :)
@MusicTechHelpGuy Жыл бұрын
You should be able to transpose your MIDI keyboard down by one octave to reach those lower notes. Pretty much all MIDI controllers have an octave control. Or, you can use the transposer MIDI FX plugin, and drop the MIDI notes by 1 octave (-12 semitones).

This is a welcome video. I'm a bit green, and my problem is I I'm using a Drummer track, and I extended it out for a bit. When I go to Piano Roll, the first region is lit up, and allows me to edit, but the following regions are not, and I can't seem to figure out how to light those additional regions so I can use my eraser or paint brush. Not sure I'm explaining that perfectly, but if anyone has a suggestion I'm all ears!!

Two things I can't seem to do. 1. Glue tool. Without pressing Command it doesn't work even to show the glue icon. With Command pressed I see the icon, but it won't glue anything. 2. When I try to get a section to repeat, it does repeat, but way further down, not next to the section I want to repeat.

IS THERE ANY VIDEO ABOUT WRITING SCORES IN LOGIC?
@MusicTechHelpGuy2 жыл бұрын
Perhaps I’ll cover it in some future videos. However, I don’t recommend Logic’s score editor for anything other than just basic lead sheets and chord charts. Anything that is intricate will require Sibelius or Finale. Otherwise it’s just pain.
