I wish al plugins with a Wet/Dry Mix could be locked at the amount you are Mixing with the plugin - that way you could flick thru presets and hear the same amount of Effect..

Hey, great video! Still on Ventura (and currently on a critical mission) so will have to wait till February to update the OS and then the Logic version :( I also use summing stacks 99% of the time (VS folder stacks) There's a quicker way to create them, that's using SHIFT-COMMAND-G (instead of D) No dialog box, stack created straight away! (For folder stacks use SHIFT-COMMAND-H) And no... I did not customise the shortcut, it was there since day 1. If it doesn't work now it still means you can customise it. Cheers!

Thank you for this. Updated early but had missed some of these. Being able to remove the mastering assistant is the one I'm happiest to learn about. Next biggest pet peeve is the panning button when working with stereo panning, not balance. Wish they would just give us 2 knobs or something, as well as the option to set stereo panning as the default instead of balance.

If you click on either one of the bars in the stereo panner, I think you can move that one independently of the other - but two knobs is certainly a lot more intuitive!

Thanks Chris. I discovered, which you most likely knew, that if you have an audio Apple loop with multiple chords in it you can open the chord track, drag that loop on the chord track and it will paste those chords there. So then any session player will be in the correct chord while playing.

Do you know if it's possible to add chord data when creating an apple loop? Seems like I can only choose key and tempo.

Another big update in my opinion is that you can now scroll zoom to the pointer. If you still want to zoom like in the previous versions to playhead or selected region, you can still use command + arrows.

Someone pointed that out to me on IG but as a negative haha. I didn’t even notice it as I use control opt click and drag for zoom but I’m glad it’s working for you!

When Logic uses all efficiency cores and has a wet/dry knob for all plugin inserts I'll switch from Reaper, for mixing that is.

I'm running Logic 11. I like it. A few things though: My Mac is about 5 years old. Is that why ChromaGlow is not available? Next - I would like to see Apple pay more attention to the Step Sequencer. For example, when choosing an event, all available 'rest' times should be available. Also, each keyed event should have an articulation value choice - ie, staccato, legato, etc. AND velocity values - why do they rely on an external controller? Why can't the velocity be numbered at the time the event is entered - AND - why do note values extend only to a Whole Note? At any time , during a song, an instrument may need to hold a note up to 4 measures - or more. Apple - can you address this? I have an old Technics keyboard ( KN 1000) , whose Step Sequencer function is way ahead of Logic. Problem is - the MIDI protocol between Logic and that old keyboard is non-existent. This would be such a simple code for Apple to write into Logic. Let's get it done!

Yes ChromaGlow and stem splitter are only available on apple silicon processors (M1 and later), so macs before 2020 won't have it.

Agreed the step sequencer leaves something to be desired. However you can hold a single step for up to the entire step range opt + cmd click and drag the step you want to extend.

I like your videos - but do you have an answer about why Logic’s undo button disappears or greys out in sessions and becomes difficult to proceed. How can this be fixed - not temporarily - but actually fixed?

They edit menu undo button (cmd z)? I’ve never experienced that before. I’ve found undo and compare in the plugins to do a little tricky but not the global undo.

Moving mixer tracks is great, but automatically creating tracks in the tracks area when doing so sucks. I wonder how long we'll have to wait for a toggle to turn that off?

Bruh. Why can't I add a plugin in-between other plugins instead of having to move everything down individually?

You should be able to but it can be a little finicky. You have to get your mouse in just the right spot and there will be a little bar that gets highlighted between the two plugins that you can click on to add.

I have to say, and sorry for repeating my issues with Logic, but I honestly couldn't care less about any of these updates. I can't believe I'm alone absolutely hating the black tooltip window when hovering over midi notes so it's impossible to see where to move the notes, or that the height of the ruler is so small it makes me dubble clicking the cycle ruler just above it instead, to start a song at a specific position, or that the sampler doesn't have an EQ for individual sounds (frankly that's crazy), or that the user interface of the default synths are just terrible and uninspiring. You see where I'm going with this right? These are not features I wish Logic had, they are all incredibly annoying user errors, and often recurring too, ok EQ in the sampler technically isn't but, Oh well, maybe next time :)

A workaround can be to shift+click where you want the playhead to be. That doesn't work on a region though. I use the brackets a lot too (with shift they jump by 8 beats I think). As for individual EQ for each sample, as far as I know only Ultrabeat has it. Or maybe Sampler with multi outputs ?

​@@kingofdjembe Ah geez, I should be able to just set my own key command so that double clicking anywhere within the arranger area would start the song there, worth looking into. And you're absolutely right, this should be doable in Ultrabeat, I hardly ever use it but now I will for sure. It required just a little bit of thinking.. :)) Sometimes you get stuck in your own way. If you find something to be annoying or in your way in Logic, there is a high chance you can deactivate it, or change its key command.
