When you're dropping your 808's in I'd recommend choosing the Quick Sampler Optimized. When you do it will automatically detect the what note the 808 or bass is playing and use that as the root note to spread across the keyboard. For instance if the 808 from Splice you want to use is a D# it will put it on the D# key and then spread it accordingly. If you use Quick Sampler Original it will place the D# 808 on C3 instead and you'll have to figure out the scale from there, causing a lot more work and headaches. In a perfect world all 808's would be tuned to C when you download them, but that's not the case unfortunately! Just a fast tip that will make a WORLD of difference I think! =)

Yeah, but what I don’t like it’s it trims the gaps and lowers the volume. Some of my basses have a slight gap that give the sound a bit of a swing and of course who doesn’t like a bit of overly loud distorted trap bass 😂

Either I'm a simpleton, or above seems like this is being overthought? I still rock my TR-808 (I've had since '86) but my preference is my TR-909. Full disclosure, I've never used a DAW before, so can't speak to whatever challenge it is you are wanting to solve. However, I know about synth bass but just get you a DFAM, or a 909 or Circuit...and you'll have full control over making whatever bass you want. First one below is Circuit, and the second is 909. I call it hood bass....just make it funky and get crackin' with it. Don't worry about this chord and that envelope and this computer blah blah. Like i said keep it funky and it'll come together. This is all new to me. I am a guitarist of over 35 years and eventhough, I have and still do music in all or pretty much all genre's. I feel, I am starting all over again. Thanks Bolo! Optimized also puts it in the right key. So if the sample starts in B flat. It will come up as B flat. Someone probably already wrote that here though ;-)
