As a beginner with DAWs, LP, and Sampler, this was the clearest, most useful short tutorial I've found. Thank you! I just purchased LP 10.7 today, so I'm ready to learn as much as possible. If you ever decide to offer in-depth classes (such as on Udemy) on Sampler, mixing, etc., I'm sure you'd have lots of paying students. I'd be one of them. Thanks!

Thanks, great video, subscribed. I was messing about with it yesterday. it’s really awesome. I’ve pulled a bassloop in and it fitted the song in tempo but on a key that wasn’t in the right pich. (not the root key) So to be in tempo I had to go down 4semitones but then the pitch obviously wasn’t right. Can you tell me how to change the pitch and keep that particular tempo? I don’t know if it makes any sense 😆
@tibbyk58884 жыл бұрын
I kinda worked it out. recorded the midi with the key where the tempo was right and bounced it to audio and then pulled that into the sampler and clicked the follow tempo so the tempo is right on every key now.

Question on Velocities: I have a sample 4 octaves of note pitch with 4 different Velocities per note. How Will logic understand this? What do you suggest when it comes to loading them into the sampler?? ( I may start by grouping them by velocity range). Trying to make the loading and programming less tedious and time consuming. Thanks for this Thomas! Very Good, I'm really beginning to understand this sampler and how the synthesizer is integrated with it. Makes sampling more useful and not as tedious when we can drag and drop!

does the analysis also work for foreign samples? (like a odlschool song) I am confused how to combine such samples with my own melodies in order to not loose the key and get something inharmonic

I have a problem I can't figure out. I'm trying to make the sampler use only ONE of the zones from the different zones assigned to the same key on a Latin Percussion kit. I've tried everything I could to make it play only one of the zones but it keeps cycling through the different zones automatically and I can't figure out how to stop/modify this. It's the Stomps in the kit and I only like Stomp Copy 7 but every time I hit the key, it cycles to the different zones of the audio file. How can I modify this to only play Stomp Copy 7 zone? EDIT: Knowing this information will also help me know how to setup up the automatic cycling in case I also want to create a sampler instrument where one key triggers several different zones of an audio file.

I have a question about the logic sampler: I noticed that in sampler there can be several groups on ONE note! for example: if you drag the live loop „Isabela - Pop Tumbao“ on a track, Logic creates a sampler-track with a drummer region. if you convert this region to a midi region, you see that it contains only 2 notes (Conga Bright High on D3 and Conga Bright Low on D#3). but if you open the Sampler plugin, you can see that there are actually several groups on the same note: for example on D3 there are several „articulation“-groups (like opentone, closeslap or fingertip) beeing trigered by only one midi note D3 (if you click on different notes in piano-roll editor, you can see the groups change in Samplers mapping view). my question is: how do you control which group is triggered? if I want to program my on pattern in the piano-roll, or any other way, how I can control which group is beeing triggered, like opentone, closeslap, fingertip or so… it´s not via velosity, nor could I find something in the event editor. maybe you or someone else here can help me - would be great

Hey people I need a little bit of help with this new 10.5 version. Lets just say I place a synth instrument like Sylenth or ES1. I record and play a midi pattern in the timeline and I want to change a preset in the sorftware instrument, and every time It loops arround the preset goes to the original preset instrument I had before. Like I want to change it from a bass to a lead, and once it loops it trows me back to the base. Help please!
