Great update that brings together features of other DAWS namely Bitwig and Ableton. For Drums though nothing beats the Atlas plugin.

There is a problem of synchronization between the reading of a loop or a one shots in the browser part on the right and the global reading of the project. Loops and one shots whether they are read from an external disk, from the internal disk or from an "untagged loops" folder, the response time is very long when the playback of the project is active.

I’m so sad that they didn’t include the browser in this update.. this thing is just a huge workflow killer for me and I don’t like to have an extra finder/plugin open, just to browse sounds. When they make the browser more user friendly and add 32bit support I would instantly switch back to logic 🙏🏾

What grid option changes do you mean? As for snapping, I don’t think there’s a way to avoid this. The Step Sequencer lends itself to producers who want to click in the drum groove

Honestly, I'm having some issues with 10.5. First of all, any audio sample that I've transposed has been completely messed up. And I can't figure out how to duplicate a track or create a track stack anymore, and there's not a "custom" thing where the beats, project, and time at the top are anymore. I have other issues as well. Is anybody else having problems?

I’m having quite a few problems too Quinn. When i move one of the samples outside of the drum machine designer for example, the step sequencer options for me mess up. Another problem i have is a disappearing mixer at times. They’ll iron this out in their 15.X updates. Do you have a back up Quinn?

@@JakeMasca Thx :) I actually figured out most of the problems. They occurred because I contacted Apple support about the vocal samples being messed up when transposed, and the guy had me reinstall logic, which reset my settings, which included the advanced tools in the Logic preferences. He sent the issue to the engineering team so hopefully it will be fixed. But anyway can't wait to start experimenting with the new features :D

Brother, I have a question. I have downloaded 3 times All Available Sounds in Sound Library; however, Logic Pro X 10.5 allows me to keep downloading this library, even though the installation has been successful every time. Do you know what's going on? This has happened in the two computers where I have Logic installed.

jose gr my friend, I have the same issue. I think it’s a bug. However after restarting my Mac, I let logic download “all the available sounds” amounting to 70gb, it ended up only downloading 27gb. I checked - my library is ok but that downloaded option is messing up only when I have the sounds on an external hard drive. Hope this helps you.

You cannot properly audition sounds from the browser when logic is playing. You need to stop playback first. It's really annoying.

You have to have catalina or mojave if you are mac user. Then research logic in the app store. It should be then possible to click "update"

This is BONKERS! Logic is superior to most DAWs especially now IMO, incredible pro value for the price. And all this without Apple charging you a fee for the update. I hate paying to update Reason every 2 years or so, same with other Daw's. I bought Logic Pro X in 2013 and have never had to pay for an update. I think the only thing Pro Tools has on it is mixing, maybe future updates this will get a revamp as well.

Not sure how I feel about the whole cells thingy? I guess if you are a DJ or an electronic musician this is nirvana for you. (It’s not my thing) I do more serious composition production and notation work. I would’ve liked to of seen logic pro get a complete interface overhaul this colorful gray industrial Design is a bit long in the tooth and uninspiring. I wish that logic pro or the people at Apple would create or emulate coveted analog mixers I’ve have always been fond of Reason’s mixer console emulation it’s modeled after a British board I wish Apple would do something similar to what they’re doing over at Propellerheads and Universal Audio. APPLE PLEASE UPDATE (AND OVERHAUL) THE USER INTERFACE!!!

I guess electronic musicians are not "serious" lol. I do compositions for TV and use this feature in Ableton Live all the time as a scratch pad. It allows you to quickly create arrangements and audition parts, its the same thing as the normal way, except you are not restricted by the timeline.

Hey Road to Mars I’m a huge fan of Radiohead. Hearing his music if he were a young kid again i think he’d really have fun with the live loops feature. I think that this feature is really awesome for improvising musical phrases. I can see myself testing out modal changes, borrowed dominant chords etc without committing to an arrangement yet. I hope you give it a shot. I wholeheartedly agree that Logic Pro should have an interface overhaul. I’d really appreciate the ability to have Logic “themes” that are more diverse.

Jack Spade didn’t mean to offend, and I probably should have said what I said another way. I admit that my critique and skepticism of this new feature (and other changes) may be a bit bigoted. I’m a bit disappointed that we didn’t get the changes and features that I was hoping for. The Logic Pro X team needs step its game up, UAD’s Luna DAW is pretty freaking good hopefully Apple will take some cues from them in the next up date and give us a true feature rich update and GUI redesign next time

Jake Masca I totally agree with you about the themes idea. I really wish that the Logic team would license and do true emulations of Neve, SSL and other top British large formate mixing boards. UAD is really stepping up their game with the new Luna DAW. I think the Logic team better pay attention and take cues. Also your right I should reserve my judgment on the “looping feature” and give it a shot.

@Jake Masca actually i see that if you right click the region in the arrangement view you can convert it into a midi clip. My workaround is that you just have to solo each sound individually and convert them one at a time. Hopefully there is a faster way to do it

Morningside Beats you can load into quick sampler - and then to drum machine designer. This will allow you to sequence multiple drums. BUT if it’s two separate quick samplers, I don’t believe you can do this.
