Hi, just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your channel! Thanks to you, I went from not wanting to even touch the complex synths like Alchemy and ES2 to "I can't get enough of this!"

I use Live Loops as a looping station literally every day to accompany live dance classes over Zoom. Setting up the audio/MIDI track defaults with your preferred cell length and to switch to Play Mode after recording is a great way to integrate both MIDI and audio without having to click to stop recording. It's not perfect, but it's definitely functional. As always, thanks for another fantastic video!

Hey, First thank you for the video, very informative on the new features in logic pro x. I wanted to hit you back with a little knowledge. The reason that when you go into your step sequencer templates that it will always be in C is because the key of your song is in C. If you change the key of the song, and then go back into the step sequencer templates, you will see that the key will have changed. Hope this saves you and a couple of other peeps some time! Cheers!

100% I can't imagine working on a project without it being in the key of the song ... at the start. Too many piano lessons ;^)
@danielpashman4 жыл бұрын
Just a tip, the melody scales correspond to the key of the song. That is if you input it in your session. You can change the key if you enable it in your custom control bar at the top

Hey just wanted to let you know, that you can change the key in the step sequencer, in the pattern inspector tab. Just click the little “I” and down under ‘Pattern Key’. A much better workflow than you have going on with the learn mode. Although that was cool. Otherwise I love your channel! Great video, very helpful, as always! Just sharing the knowledge.

I'm relatively new to Logic, so your channel is absolutely great for me. Dealing with this the pandemic situation, it is a great time to learn (in detail) about Logic. From all of the different KZbin videos, you tips and tricks are truly the most informative. Thank You!!!

Great tutorial, just like the other ones. Tip 9, I find that rather than using the transform window, I press CMD+a to select all and then Shift+Opt and drag a note so all will have the same length. For my workflow it’s quicker.

Nice video! So much content but straight to the point and no waste of talking etc. You kinda read my mind because I needed to step up my DMD, sequencer, midi and live loops game and you did it all in one video haha! Plus if I need to refer back to and you went the extra mile and have them time stamped! Wishlist: 1) Would love to actually play in the notes in the sequencer instead of turning on/off steps or, to the same effect, play them in midi and convert that midi region pattern to a live loops pattern. 2) triggering scenes in live loops with different time signatures would be rad because I like prog stuff. 3) a controller dedicated to LPX's Live Loops unlike the launchpad which works but is kinda workaround. iPad is probably best thing ATM. Anyway keep up the great content and would love to see more videos that you mentioned.

Hi, great video. I do a lot of live looping with LPX, but I can't get rid of the first note getting cut off bug.. You sai "You can fix this by turning on MIDI Chase." can you tell us the exact settings? I believe the problem is somewhere else and MIDI Chase wont fix it...

Excellent video Josh, thank you! On the subject of MIDI, is there any way to audition third party MIDI loops at project tempo in Logic?
@freyfrenzy7 ай бұрын
great video!!! why do you prefer working with real copies instead of loops of regions?
@MusicTechHelpGuy7 ай бұрын
Because you can't edit loops. If you loop a region, it will be identical to the first instance of the loop. With real copies, I can do individual editing on each instance of a loop.

Hi, dis there a way to audition the library without having to fully load & press keys on the midi keyboard ? In other words > In a perfect world, if I clicked on an instrument it would play a short riff showing me what the patch/channel preset sounds like :)

Me: "Hey, music tech help guy, why don't you just use the loop option on the tracks?" Music tech help guy: "Somebody who's kind of a noob to logic would probably just loop it" Me: "D:"

Hi new to the channel. Just started using logic x. When in cycle record the auto punch automatically engages. It’s really annoying how do I stop this from happening?

Can you load a mono drum machine designer or load a mono quicksampler inside drum machine? I want my kick to be mono almost allways but i end having to open a separate quicksampler track in mono for the kick alone.
@autodidacticprofessor8694 жыл бұрын
I just discovered that if you use the command to open the step sequencer and you have't yet added a pattern region, you just begin creating a pattern and a region appears! You're welcome! :)

hey MTH Guy! I'm trying to re-bar the timeline with a rubato audio file. I recorded MIDI notes on every beat. But not sure where to go from here. Your help is much appreciated. I'm trying to create a violin part that's sync'd to the beat grid, so I can then quantize and export to FInale to create notation. Any suggestions? Thanks! Guy Grimmy

You can create a beat map to have the tempo follow the Audio recording. Check out my 2 videos on Beat Mapping in Logic: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJqpmHd3q6-YhbM

Even with midi chase if you use the yellow loop bar it won't play the first note as it repeats. This is so annoying. I like to use the cycle loop to work on sections and even record sections using it but it's all buggy.

In the second section where you are showing how to set up drums, you bring up a menu of drum sounds but there’s no explanation of how you bring up those drum samples. Anyone know how to do this?

I switched to logic recently from abelton, in abelton i was able to create midi notes by simply clicking in the grid. in logic it doesn't seem like thats possible, is there a way that you or anyone here knows of to make that happen, thanks

Using logic as a looper in the same way performers use foot loopers is nearly impossible and just full of bugs. With audio loops without flex and follow on, audio loops will truncate the end of the loop when the arrangement tempo hits a new bar, even though its not playing the loop at the arrangement tempo. It's nuts. Also, tap tempo, which is so commonly used for foot loopers, starts play back no matter what so cant use it to just set a tempo and then start play after. It is terrible.
