I’ve been dealing with muddy guitars forever and I suspected that it’s because of the premade amp and pedal setups. This video clarifies a lot for me. Great info! Thank you!

Thanks for this video. There’s not enough of them. I do hip hop but I also do Nu Metal because great ripping guitars with the right hip hop/break beat is such a cool sound. So thanks.

I find that the EVOC 20 Filterbank gives a pretty cool tone (post amp/distortion) if you control the resonance.

no matter what i do, its all just noise whenever i try distorted guitars, thought it would improve when i upgraded from garageband

Ugh that sucks to hear tbh i was going to change from garage band to Logic Pro x myself but I just don’t know how to get a good distortion tone :(

@@Shamonia123 Don't use Logic's amp sims for high gain stuff.. I fiddled with them for years thinking it was me. Their amps are ok , but the high gain is bad. They haven't updated any of these for years because I don't think there's much interest in the stock amp sims. I wish they would. You need to go third party .. there's actually a lot of good free stuff out there. If you've got one of the new silicone chip Macs .. M1 or M2, most of em' don't play nicely with Logic which is sort of a bummer. Ignite Emissary ain't bad and it works on Logic .. The Roots amp sim is great but my M1 doesn't like it. Do yourself a favor and just shell out 150 bucks and get yourself a Neural DSP or something .. Solid plug-ins .. that's the route I finally went.

Switching from GarageBand to logic isn't gonna fix your issues but it'll give you way more tools to do it! That's what I've learned after switching sorta like a tool box vs a tool shed

I can relate... there are just so many factors, starting with the quality of the interface. Tbh the best results I get is to just hook up a mic in front of my amp and grab what I hear. All those digital amps etc. I just can't get the hang of it.
@alvinjoseph726012 күн бұрын
@ yeaaa I've been spending all this time trying to use them and tried using a free plug in everyone raves about (ignite emissary) but I recently started plugging my amp directly into my interface cause it has a record out aux and it honestly is so much better 😂

Joe, you're a star. Thanks. I also use the Scuffham amps sims via Slate/Gobbler and Slate's new Overloud Amp sims are incredible.

I have some drop c power chords -- but when i follow this tutorial, the resulting sound is waaaayy to distorted and loud. What can you recommend I do to improve this (should I not use any of the 'distortion' amps for power chords)?

This is a dead channel bro, it’s a terrible tutorial. He’s only showing u one tone. Neither panned left or right

I know this video is a year old but I have a question. I was recording electric guitar with distortion and notice that it doesnt sound as clean as everyone elses on youtube tutorials. What I mean by this is that i can literally hear everything. like the noise it makes when you slide your fingers across the fretboard and strings. How do i clean these noises up?
@nateellis41574 жыл бұрын
Yeah man, I get the exact same problem, I managed to improve it slightly by using the noise gate and just messing around with stuff but it's still nothing like what people I watch seem to get
@synhet843 жыл бұрын
Noise gat is the key for sure

@@synhet84 I recently brought a plug in, and it has improved soooooo much more, if your doing rock/ metal music I highly recommend saving some money for one

I was comparing the (DI) noise from the Amp Sim when using Logic Amps. I know using a noise gate cuts the noise when not playing, but is the noise still there underlying my track and will add up the more guitars I record? In fact, is this a normal phenomenon when recording guitars? Ha, am I maybe overthinking that?

Have you run into a problem with the amp sims distortion? I can't get clean distortion without a loud static and sizzle the whole time it's on. I use a noise gate but the sizzle is still loud when I am playing. I haven't been able to find a fix.

Hello. What gear chain do you use for record this DI? What audiointerface? Did you use DI-box before audiointerface?
@LunaticTheCat4 жыл бұрын
I personally wouldn't use a high shelf, and I would do a low pass of 12 db/Oct around 14k, but hell, I guess it's all subjective anyways.
@5FortyPros3 жыл бұрын
What kind of guitar did you use to go DI to start.

Thank you. I really mean it. If you see my videos, you will hear I am still struggling with this. Especially when I have great guitars.
