I am currently using Logic and I gotta say I’ve learned so much from just watching your tutorials compare to some of the other tutorials I’ve seen on KZbin. You by far the best and thank you so much Jono😊 keep up the good work. Much respect from New Zealand🇳🇿 and God bless man😎

I have seen this demo'd with plugin doc.. so you get to se the exact curve. and for anyone wondering this is not the same as adding a bell to simply boost. its the relationship of the boost and the falloff with each other that provides this effect!

So great to finally have this explained. Questions for part 2: Are the other boost/attenuate pairs in this eq to be approached the same way? What’s that midrange section at the bottom good for? Thanks as always!

Hi Dan. Absolutely, though it's the low-end capabilities of the Pultecs which are, perhaps, most celebrated. As always, experiment and see what feels good for your mixes. The MEQ-5 (the lower section of Logic's plug-in) is a whole other Pultec EQ which I'll look at in a future video. If you think about the EQP-1A (top section) as the outer bands, the MEQ-5 fills in the gap in the middle. The other difference is that with the high band, you have a bandwidth dial to control how wide you want the high frequency curve to be. Try it on hi-hats, or to add fizz to synth parts.
