One minor detail about mobcaps: The per-player mobcaps aren't counted within the despawn sphere of 128 blocks radius, but within an area that more closely resembles a cylinder and is actually the same as the chunks that receive random ticks - mobs in any loaded chunk that has its center within 128 blocks horizontally from the player counts towards that player's personal mobcap.

If you built this in hardcore, there's a chance that the switch will not work properly. I don't know if this is because I'm in hardcore, but mobs were still spawning in the nether. However, it is easily fixable. After some testing, and talking to another person who has also built this switch, and it turns out adding anywhere from 5 to 25 extra traded with zombie villagers to the cage fixes the switch, and stops mobs from spawning. This could also be due to the fact that the nether might have a different size mob cap? Not entirely sure, but adding the extra fixed it all. Hope this helps.

IDK why but I am having problems with my rails not pointing to the direction where I want it to be. To fix, you just have to invert the redstone under the black button by adding a redstone torch powering the entire circuit, so instead of the rail going back for a second, you now have it to point towards the chamber for a second and changing it back for the next villager. The powered rails underneath can just be powered with a lever. Hop it helped.

Logical, do you think that the problem with Tango's mob switch on Hermitcraft's nether hub is that someone is coming from outside the render distance of the mob switch, so mobs are spawining inside the hub while the person come closer? Like, someone inside the hub is loading 70 zombie villagers, but someone is coming to the hub and a mob spawns inside the hub to fill the second person's mob cap before this person come close enough for the mob switch to count for him too? Maybe a way to fix the problem would be to have 4 mob switchs just on the outside of the corners of the hub, so anyone coming from far away starts to load the mob switch before mobs have a chance to spawn inside the hub..

I found that replacing the barrel (used to count the conversions) with a chest fixes the problem where the villagers sometimes take a very long time to choose their profession. I am using Fabric and am using single player mode. When I turned off the chunk loader, mobs are still not spawning as normal. Even at night on creative, I do not see mobs spawning on land. I am worried about that, especially applying that to my hardcore world. That is, the chunk loader did not control the mob spawning switch. I even changed the heights of a zombie villager cell and the space in between the chunk loader and a villager cell is 2 chunks in between, exclusive (3 chunks away from chunk loader). Resolved myself. It turns out that you need to consider what are spawn chunks. Since every world has one worldspawnpoint if beds are excluded, they have 10 chunks as radius, forming a square of 21 x 21 chunks. Spawn chunks are always loaded, in which the switch does not work. So do not build in spawn chunks. Took around a month to figure out the problem.

I'm trying to build this in a server, but the track bit is causing me some issues. The rail thats supposed to change directions (on top of the target block) gets stuck on the opposite direction when i press the button. So when i press the button, theres a second of delay, then it gets activated and faces the holding cell but doesnt go back to facing the villager breeder side. Can anyone help please?

Had the same on one of my mobswitches on a Server. Just inverse the signal. So the torch on the target block is default unlit and Swaps to active with the button. Its just one More torch and a bit Longer of a Redstone line

how would I make this but on a server with multiple players? is it possible?
@Gin-toki2 жыл бұрын
Around the part where you mention types of mob to use for the mobswitch, you did not clarify why one could not use any odd hostile mob. I'd imagine nametagging a mob will make it no longer count towards the mobcap and that is why we need mobs with a natural persistence?
@zwatchxd2 жыл бұрын
in this case, the mobs that can be used for a mobswitch are mobs that cant respawn or despawn, zombies, skeletons, spider, etc (general hostile mobs) can respawn and despawn so you cant use those, while mobs like shulkers, and elder guardians are “pre-spawn” so they cant respawn or despawn but still counts towards the mob cap, for wither its a boss so it wont despawn, and the player is the one spawning it, zombie villagers can spawn naturally and despawn but because you trade with them before turning them into zombies they wont despawn in this video he used zombies that are holding a diamond which is given by the player so it wont despawn, a nametag also prevents it from despawning
@stuartpage20642 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's correct. There are only a few mobs which persist but still count toward the mob cap, and any mob which is nametagged or holding an item no longer count towards the cap

can you build the villager breeder in the entity processing chunks so you can do other stuff while waiting for the 70 villagers?
@yassinedownpourz2 жыл бұрын
Crops growing is random tick based and require a player presence so the villager breeder will stop working, if you want to build a villager breeder in the entity processing chunks you will have to build a bonemeal based one.

Thanks for this tutorial but i don’t understand how to turn on or off ( is the on/ off switch by turning on/off chunk loader)
@LogicalGeekBoy2 жыл бұрын
Yeah exactly. If you turn off the chunk loader, the mobs are no longer loaded. I show this at around 1:38
@dantegomezbasualdo55072 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that, around the place you build it, there is no turning on and off. So if you build this next to a mob farm, it will never work again. I know it sounds a bit obvious, but what you can turn on and off is the mob spawning anywhere else, but not around the mob switch itself
@whuwhaaa22 жыл бұрын
Out of curiosity, can you force the mob cap beyond its limit of 70 in a single player world or does the game just delete the extra mobs beyond 70?
@randombanana6402 жыл бұрын
(idk if i'm correct, but i'm gonna tell you what i think is correct) so if you have the built the mob switch, it won't delete extra mobs beyond 70. But if you despawn those extra mobs (like for example by flying your elytra to y=200), they will despawn and not spawn again because the mob cap is full.
@whuwhaaa22 жыл бұрын
@@randombanana640 Hmm. That seams plausible. thanks man. Otherwise you could end up messing up other farms like iron farms and and gold farms etc.
