Why Is Everyone Moving To Idaho??

People have been leaving California and New York in droves. Some of the most popular destinations include Texas and Florida, but the state with the highest population growth in terms of percentage is actually Idaho. This is quite ironic given that Idaho is generally overlooked by most Americans. However, when we take a look at the pros and cons of Idaho, it’s no wonder why so many people are choosing to move there. First of all, Idaho has a much more reasonable cost of living than all of its western neighbors. Idaho is by no means the cheapest in the nation, but it’s definitely on the reasonable side and far lower than California. Now, other states like Texas also rank similarly in terms of affordability, but the thing that Idaho has over Texas is its proximity to the west coast. This makes it a prime destination for people and companies who are looking to stay close to California. This video explains the pros and cons of Idaho and why so many people are moving to Idaho.

They keep moving to the Silver Valley in Idaho, but what these West Coasters don't notice is that this used to be a Superfund Cleanup site, and there is lead from a mining smelter in the soil and in the Coeur d' Alene river. We have more and more fires each year and we were the center of two heat dome events. Maybe they should think before they move here. We also get lots and lots of snow.

(Unfortunately I've lived here at least 10 years) So to make sure these people get no ideas we MAKE'EM know from the start that we are not like california or we are not like new orleans, or austin, miami, seattle, washington, NYC, long island NY ect, ect and so far so good, they got the message. As for me, I prefer the country now and I plan on getting my Second Amendment very soon. The rest that dont straighten up at all, better be right with GOD and they don't cross the wrong folks. Recently moved from Idaho to the Seattle area. Around an 18% decrease for rent per square foot and 10-15% decrease in cost of living depending on the month. Maybe it didn't get hit with as much inflation, but either way Idaho isn't as cheap anymore as people make it out to be.

The bad policy of low supply, such as Prop 13 which favors incumbent homeowners over newer residents. So places like CA would shift towards more hungry skilled immigrants and more entrenched retirees, while still maintaining much of its dominance in the higher value-added of design and marketing.

That's because Californians are moving to Texas (and Idaho) and having a feeding frenzy on all the cheap real estate there. This means the locals have to move elsewhere because Californians drove their cost of living through the roof. I was thinking about going to Kansas to escape the nightmare in Idaho. It's likely a bad idea, because Californians will start flooding places like Kansas once they're done making Idaho and Texas too expensive for even themselves. Yeah, Idaho cost of living is still lower than a lot of the West, but the issue with Idaho is that the wages have not caught up with the rapidly increasing housing prices. The average home price may be $475,000 in Idaho, but because of the lack of catching up, your average middle class person cannot afford a house, especially since people from other states are moving in, paying $50,000 above asking, paying in all cash, and closing in less than three days with no coningency. The people selling their homes are catering exclusively to these people, so if you want to get a mortgage, you'll have to put at least $100,000 down. These are the issues with Idaho's houseing market, not just the fact that the prices have drastically increased.

From July 2020 to July 2021 Idaho grew by 53,151 people. Texas grew by 310,288. Florida grew by 211,196. Texas and Florida CLERLY grew much more than Idaho. If you try to be deceptive and go by percentages then it makes Idaho look like it grew more only because it has so few people to begin with, but in REALITY, Texas and Florida grew much more. Really, Idaho should be 6th on the list for growth according to the numbers in this video.

I read a book named Educated by Tara Westover. After reading that book I got the impression that Idaho and Alabama are most underdeveloped parts of 🇺🇸. And people are not that educated and Healthcare is not so advanced like people of Seattle, New York or California. Due to rising of housing prices and growth stagnation and decline of some states has given them opportunity to rebuild itself( like we see in case of big companies too).

Interesting; normal people would look at Idaho and say "who'd want to live there?" But when you look into it, it changes to "who wouldn't want to live there?" As long as snow doesn't scare you away. And, at least a couple decades ago, Idaho had some of the nicest people in the country living in it. I can't say that's still true due to the pressure California exiles have put on it because it's so close. But Californians have very limited options. The entire West Coast is out because California has ruined all of it. From Washington State all the way down to Baja California. Or you're going to move to the desert? I don't see that in the cards: And then there is Idaho, only a rock skip away from the Gay Bay; staring at you. That's the only reason why housing has gone up so high and native Idahoans ARE NOT VERY HAPPY ABOUT THAT AT ALL! Me, I think I'd rather stay away and move to South Dakota instead; the climate is about the same. I live in the Niagara region in upstate NY and we're rural and red, it's beautiful here living on the water; but it's a police state prison here just as much as it is in NYC. I'm a little old to leave now which is a shame. But South Dakota has been pretty much left alone by the exiles because it's too far away. I think South Dakota would be much less of a roller coaster ride then Idaho has become and it's very similar to Idaho in it's character of people. The character of people changes quite a lot when you leave the cities and you're expected to carry your own weight where ever you go. Which was never really a problem in America. It's only become a problem in recent decades. It's so bad today that something's gotta give. Blue collar workers supporting everyone else defeats the entire purpose of America. America is for the individual and diversity is NOT a strength.

I live 45 miles from Canada and I'm in the middle of thousands of miles of forests. In my lifetime (50+ years) we have only had one close call. The difference is water! North Idaho is ALWAYS green, we have thousands of lakes, ponds and rivers everywhere and groundwater is plentiful. I'm not an expert but it must have something to do with why our fires don't get raging like drier states.

i think people need to get used to the idea that our population centers are over growing and newer generations want something else. The places that were once off the radar are now prime targets, and thats ok! in fact thats great! bringing economic growth to beautiful underrated places is a good thing.

One downfall of idaho it is bitter cold we do have occasional earthquakes in central idaho and although I doubt it will ever erupt in my lifetime Yellowstone has the one of the worlds largest caldera

% growth seems like a weaker or misleading statistic to gage versus actual population count increase. Texas increased by more than 300K at 1.1% versus Idaho’s 50K at 2.9%. If there’s a research base in Antarctica of 10 people and they added another researcher, I’m not going to claim Antartica is the next big place people are moving to at 10% growth

Even in Boise, our capital, our biggest stadium is a college football stadium funded by Boise State University, and the biggest state funded stadium (at least to my knowledge) is an old rickety baseball stadium that is just a baseball field, a net, and around 5 bleachers. And we don’t really have any good area to host most Olympic sports that don’t need a stadium.

However, if you are a nurse looking to move to idaho, take my advice with a grain of salt. Idaho has 2M people. 3% is 60K. CA has 39M people. Idaho's gain in population last year was only 0.15% of CA population. Hardly a blip. There's nowhere in the world that is better to live than any place on the coast south of SF and excluding LA. You just need money.

I want to move to Idaho in summer 2023. I just got an elementary education degree and I don't like all the anti-White and pro trans BS here in CA. My degree is my ticket out of CA. Plus the state income tax would be 6% instead of the 12% a starting teacher is taxed in CA. And no covid vaccine or mask mandates. I voted conservative for 23 years straight in CA and things only got worse because of all the liberals here.

This is the second video I watch from your channel. You seem pretty fixated on house ownership. Which is totally overrated, especially in car centered suburbias. People there can do nothing without driving long distances in their car. But I think they mostly sit at home and eat unhealthy food. All the loans for houses caused the worldwide economic crash of 2008/ 09. Of course it's more complicated but it seems to me that US people always choose brainlessly repeating what never worked over life quality. And from my german perspective: I am very lean and healthy because healthy food is affordable, I live in a walkable neighborhood where everything I need, supermarkets, drugstores, Hobby Lobby, schools, doctors of all professions, cafeés and two beautiful parks, several bars are in walking distance. I don't need a car because public transportation is good. It's a very mixed neighborhood with people from many different countries. And all get aling pretty good. Living in the US with your slums and shootings and racial problems looks like a nightmare. I can walk to the gas station at 2 am to buy some beer without risking to get shot...

You cannot compare a much more humane place like Germany to the capitalistic insanity that's America. The reason home ownership is so important to Americans is because a lot of people pay much more if they're renting than they do if they own a home and the home equity will always go up (with minor short term exceptions) so lower income people use that as retirement money or inheritance for their kids. We do not have healthcare or childcare or many other social programs and most rentals are owned by cooperations that have many excessive restrictions. These reasons and many more is why we have a homeless epidemic and 75% of the homeless today are working and have families. I envy your countries social programs and truly believe America cannot go on much longer with less than 1% owning over half of all wealth.
