For the rattling noise, i have put 1 or 2 layers of band aid between the pegs under the keycaps

@@Subee7 Tried it myself on my own g915 and it totally DELETES the rattle. Shook it as hard as I could, couldn't hear a thing. Also followed the video above, worked wonders. Halfway done with taping the pegs and lubing the switches its going to be sick when its done.

Excellent work! I am going to tear my G915 brown apart now. Can’t stand the stablizer rattling on space bar, enter and shifts! Going to lube those using a some lubing grease along with tempest “tape” mod and the foam filling mod. I have also seen some use brushes to lube their switches with slim brushes to further tube the sound! This should be good 😎 cheers again for showing how to open this bad boy up 👍🏽

Glad it helped! Gl on further modding. Another way you can lube the switches is to push down the switch then use super lube and do 1 drop in all the corners

To completely get rid of rattling noise u just need to put o-rings underneath each key. I did it for my g915 tkl and the rattle was gone. Before I have tried to lube the switches - it worked but still some rattle was audible.

Not sure, measure the distance between the 2 clip points for the key cap. Or you can use a bandaid, cut it up small and stack a couple till the rattling stops. Hope that helps

I will press my space bar down while gaming and its resets suuuper slow to the point where I can’t play anything..but because it’s not a traditional mechanical keyboard I was nervous on poppin the caps and taking it apart

@@Subee7 *update* :: Just felt the need to come on back and tell about my adventures on cleaning my keyboard! So after removing the key caps from my board I wiped it down and lubed up all the stabilizers.. after putting the keys back on it was like butterrrr *chefs kiss* then went back to this video and took the deep dive on following this video step by step. Completed all the mods and holy shnikies what a difference, I love it! 😎🤙 absolute awesome video once again brother, great content 👌

Fantastic tutorial video, thanks for this. Do you know if there are replacement keycaps available that light up all those secondary key symbols (!"£$%^&*()_ etc etc)? I find it really annoying in a low light environment e.g. gaming on my TV or monitor.

Man I love this keyboard I guess I got used to the sound but kinda like it... With my settings (even with rgb on just static) and some auto dim on inactivity settings I get almost 180 hours per charge!

Is it possible to get under the standoffs? (I don’t know if I’m using the right words for it) I had one of the pins on my D key break and the key came loose. The other pin was still stuck in the standoff. I tried getting it out but that resulted in the pin falling down underneath the brown standoff making the key hard to push down and not working properly. Help much appreciated.

You'd have to take out the switch and disassemble the switch. pre8simple fix. Hope you got it fixed! sorry I don't check comments very often

Mine doesn't rattle like this. Something I've found is that the more you remove the keycaps and then put them back, the more they'll rattle. It's because you're bending the pegs and making them loose.

Hey, did you ever replace your keycaps? In my opinion their too flat and I want to swap it out for some pudding keycap, do I need to buy new switches as well and solder it?

Sorry for the late reply here, yes you'd have to buy new low profile switches that use cherry cross stems (gateron has such switches, you can get them from keychrons website) and then most third party keycaps would work just fine with the board

Put tape under the caps to fill the gap to the swich. Caps sit tight. Rattle is gone.

My wasd keys are worn out, sucks so bad that the printing is so low quality eventhough i love the board so much Was thinking of getting the keycaps replacement tbat cost like 40 dollars for a full tkl set. That's a good question, I'm not sure though and I don't own that board anymore to try it. Remove the battery is pretty simple if you wanted to try it your self, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

idk if ur still active on this but my brother snapped off one of the switches and one of the feet are broken off i cant seem to manage to get the white piece back in. note i dont have experience with low profile boards if this were a normal switch its an easy fix but idk abt this is it fixable

what is the capacity of the original battery? I attached a battery from an old dell latitude, i have my rgb turned on all the time set to white, and I haven't had to charge it for 4 months now. Charging it is a pain though.

I'm not to sure you could probably find the capacity online somewhere but I don't own that board anymore so I can't even check. That's pretty neat you got a laptop battery to fit, did you make sure to check that the voltages and everything were the same? Or did you just plug it in and not look back?

@@Subee7 The laptop battery was wired in series so the voltage for 11.1. I removed the wiring and re-wired them in parallel. So they are the same voltage now (3.7v) I hooked up the battery directly to the keyboard, so it can actually charge using the port on the keyboard itself. It takes a very long time, somewhere around 8-10 hours.

Do not do this! While the o-rings do reduce the rattle (completely eliminating them), it does so by making the keycaps tighter on the stem holes. The problem is that the stems are really weak. The o-rings add additional upward pressure on them, making them prone to snapping. I've already had three keycaps snap on one stem before I realized the culprit! Please don't do it.

It's hard to find replacements for the 915, ik amazon has a set but I have no idea of there quility and I'm not sure they come in white. If you've tried googling for replacements and can't find any you might unfortunately be out of luck.

Probs done this now but the broken piece will come out with little trouble as it's designed to smoothly go in..a pair of quality tweezers will do and a magnifying glass...took 5 mins..you know when it's.lin3d up as the key will depress 100%.. then it's ready to gently pry up and out..

Can the green side with the switches be removed as well? I have the tactile white but want to get the white version to have the linear switches, wondering if I could swap out the green piece from the black version of the g915..

The circuit board? Yes its held on with screws scattered around the circuit board I believe. Aslong as it's the same model of g915 (either tkl it full size) you could easily swap the circuit board with no issues. Sorry about the late response, hope you get I figured out man

Yea~ my cat ripped it off. Did you lose a keycap? Or one of the little rubber buttons at the top? If you just lost a keycap I can help. But if you lost the little rubber button at the top there sadly no way to fix it as far as I'm aware

Forget the cotton balls. Car stereo places use a thin tar paper product called Dynamat to do exactly what you are doing but better. Sticky on one side.

Haven't, I have the tactile version and lubing would worsen the already very subtle bump. If you do want to lube yours tho I recommend using super lube, it's a thin libe that can be applied without needing to desoldering all the switches. Also if you google "lubing g915" I believe there's some videos you could watch to see how to do it.

I taped the keys of my g915 tkl. This almost removed all ratalling noise from all but bigger size keys. Then I added extra layer of tapes on the larger size keycaps and now the noise is almost negligible This mod also helped in making the keys sound a bit chonky
