I have been using this keyboard for 7 months now. With keycaps being a little bit too smooth I agree. From time to time I have to wipe them off just to feel more "grip". But quality of the keycaps is OK I guess. I'm working from home and typing for around 6 hours a day + rest of the day gaming :D. I could say I really do abuse my keyboard, so far every key is still rigged and there is no scraping marks or anything. Ability to connect it to my phone with click of a button is wonderful and never had an issue with that About battery life, as heavy user it lasts me about 17 days days with backlight. I think always on backlight feature would absolutely kill the battery. Coz I'm too lazy too lazy to constantly turn it off :D. Also imo proximity sensor is enough when you are trying to find starting letter in the dark. As said in the video wireless connection in bios is a little bit funky sometimes, but you can always use your phone charger cable and have it wired. (Or included cable which I already lost:)) Switches could be better, but these still provide great typing and also gaming experience :) Hope this helps somebody who is thinking about getting one of these.

Thanks for the honest review! What I also recommend to consider when buying a keyboard is: Do you really need a wireless keyboard? Because if you want RGB or at least backlighted shine through keycaps AND you want to have it always on, why bothering with something like battery life? If your keyboard stays at the very same place, a cable would be more comfortable, makes the keyboard much cheaper and in the end having less degrading batteries in this world makes it also more ecologic.
@PhillipRPeck3 ай бұрын
Good point. I think the trend towards wireless everything is a result of "minimalism" or at least an attempt to declutter, which is potentially an entirely aesthetic concern. While keyboards without batteries SHOULD be much cheaper, I don't know if that's always born out in reality, unfortunately
@Freddy_Merckx3 ай бұрын
@@PhillipRPeck That is also true - at least when you look at the whole market. There are a lot of keyboards with battery which are not more expensive than without. Then you have to investigate individually where are the savings made to compensate for that. If I for example only look at the Cherry MX 3.0 S, the wireless version is 150€ in Europe and the wired version currently is sold for 63€. Therefore, in this case every part should be equal except the connectivity part. As the wired version with brown switches ticked all my boxes, I ordered it. I will check if the illumination is sufficient for me and if it is otherwise as good as I expect it. Looking forward to it.
@PhillipRPeck3 ай бұрын
Another excellent point. I definitely wasn't thinking about specific keyboards that have a wired and wireless version, but rather, all keyboards generally where it seemed to me that there are numerous examples of very expensive wired keyboards. But your point is well taken and valuable commentary. I hope you love your keyboard

Thank you for the 3-month update, Philip. It is highly appreciated. However, I feel that the Cougar Luxlim is way better and more durable keyboard than the Logitech MX Mechanical keyboard. Got the same keyboard a few weeks back. Generally like it, and switches fast between yn three different computers. I do have a wired in the closet if I need start up support or similar as I found out the wired mode is only charging, my bad for missing that. I'm fine with abs keys myself don't mind them at all. I guess I hope someone comes out with replacement ones and space-bar at some point as they should wear quicker then anything else. Also I have one key that as a bit of a ping sound and once you hear it it annoys you. I normally work with headphones and not so loud but yeah definitely an annoying I key :)... Just have to stop talking about my self in first person form as much now :) .. thanks Logitech for taking my money and making me less egocentric in the process :)

appreciate you saving me $169 usd here. If the batter life is so incredible, Logitech needs to provide far more customization options for lighting timeout. yes, yes, yes, that will nuke the battery but even a week with non-stop backlighting would be acceptable. I'm also glad OP described his use case: work in a dark room and actually want to use illumation to see the keyboard.... which is impossible since logitech forces the lighting to auto turn off after 3 seconds of typying. That renders the illumination feature 50% useless for, well, anyone trying to locate their keyboard in a dark room. The mindless logitech product managers have no clue how users actually use the product.
@117johnpar Жыл бұрын
On mine you can change all those settings in options+, they might have added this later. In fact its likely they did. But I can disable the backlight timeout altogether, as well as multiple different lighting schemes like wave and pulse etc.

Hey, I don't really know, I've never purchased keycap sets. All the keys are standard except the spacebar, so you could buy whatever you think looks good but you'll need to find a spacebar that has the same stem placement or leave it as is. There are pretty well established enthusiast keyboard websites and Reddit groups that may have more specific insight

Thank you for leaving a review. I've been using this keyboard for about 4 months now, and I love the way it feels when typing. It's great for my smaller hands and allows me to type quickly and seamlessly. However, I'm having issues with the Enter key, as I need to press it multiple times for it to register, which is very frustrating given the price of the keyboard. It's also disappointing that it doesn't come in black or have a screenshot key. Despite these drawbacks, I still find typing on it very satisfying. I'm considering changing the lock key switch in the hope of resolving the issue, but I'm new to mechanical fixing and have never changed a switch before. I'd appreciate some guidance on how to do this and whether it's likely to solve the problem. Thank you!

Can't you plug the keyboard into your pc's usb port to charge AND use it as a wired kb? My G915 does that.
@PhillipRPeck2 жыл бұрын
No. It doesn't do anything besides charge the keyboard. The OS doesn't see it as a device when it's plugged in
@dyong8882 жыл бұрын
@@PhillipRPeck That's a real pity. Logitech really dropped the ball there. I have the G915 and I'm finding the G Hub software is full of bugs. When I assign a group of keys a color, one key within the group will turn off when I try to upload the setting to the kb memory. That bug is repeatable when I assign to different groups. Also the upload to device function fails too. In about 3 years since the G915 came out, Logitech hasn't bothered to fix this POS software. The UI on the G Hub software is the worst I've seen. Nothing is intuitive and you don't know if something is clickable or not which is an irony since Logitech is in the business of human interface devices. Turning to the manual I find it to be the worst written manual I've seen in my life. Seems to have been a brain dump from a developer written overnight. Makes no sense unless one already knows the software. Other than the software the G915 is well built. The design is stunning but they've dropped the ball in a few hardware aspects too like no USB C and no place to store the dongle. WTH logitech this is 2020 when the kb came out. The G915 is great hardwarewise but that's all it is. Really let down by its unusable Ghub app which severely hampers its functions.

Yeah, I really like the MX Mechanical. It's a bit too expensive IMO, but the wireless connectivity and switching between devices work really well. The MX 3S is also great. It's a bit heavy and the polling rate and accuracy aren't best in the world, but it's highly regarded for productivity for a reason.

You mean you have to open up the Bluetooth menu in MacOS and reconnect? If so, then no, I don't have that problem. M1 and M2 Macs can be pretty finnicky when it comes to Bluetooth, though, and it seems like there's no consistency in how they perform. There is a way to reset the Bluetooth module via the command prompt that might help. You should be able to find the command if you Google search it. Maybe that will help

I really like mine, for the most part. I've gotten used to the keys. What I don't like at all is that trash they call Logi Options Plus. What a bug party. EDIT: @3:05 lol are you using Logi Options Plus? EDIT Yet again! OMG they used to require two versions with the MX Master 3S? That would have been the last straw for me I at least don't have to use a prior version, though I have read that Logi Options is more stable than Options Plus. Many recommend it as it is a little better, but I just deal with the audio glitches and other mayhem. Maybe they'll eventually fart out a software update that fixes a bug or two.

I haven't noticed any major bugs are weirdness with the software, but then again, I don't usually have it running in the background. I'd be interested to hear more about what issues it's causing you. @@PhillipRPeck well your comment made me sit and think maybe I am dreaming it all up but no just today Logi Options Plus wants to be a jerk again. I have audio stuttering glitches and the software will forget my devices occasionally. I will go to use one of my buttons and it won't work. Nothing is bound the way I had it set up. Why? Well let's load Options Plus and have a look. Oh none of my devices are listed. Where did they go? How am I still typing? Why do I have a mouse if there are no devices listed? I think the design of the capslock key is an absolute pity. The friction between the metal wire and the plastic claw sometimes causes sharp noise. The metal wire also creates additional noise even when the sharp noise is not present. Not quite sure why Logitech doesn't use a satellite switch or just a single switch as the solution. Generally I like this keyboard, but I just cannot tolerate that sharp noise. Hope Logitech can solve this problem then I will 100% buy this again.

It is a total disaster. Illumination turns of quickly and you have to reactivate it all the time, small/capital indication light is just a tone more brighter on the word "caps" on the actual key (so you are never sure if using small or capital letters making mistakes all the time) and the whole letter layout is strangely one click to left making hard to type numbers on the far right. For productivity look elsewhere

Logitech is certainly becoming Applified with their pricing. Charging far more for a cheaper product overall just from brand ubiquity alone. But stuff like no backwards comparability for the wireless systems is getting pretty fucking absurd for the price they're charging. Literally calling one of their wireless dongles a 'unified receiver' when its wireless technology has no compatibility back and fourth with products that come out not too long after. Another thing I hate is the windows lock button on the top right.

This is a stupid keyboard, really. I thought I would spend some serious money in order to get a high quality keyboard this time. You won't type faster on it nor will it last longer. I mean, because all keys feel the same, because they're really flat, I'm constantly checking on the monitor if my fingers are still touching the correct keys so it is not optimal for quick blind typing. Sometimes they don't and you won't notice it and be surprised of what the heck you have just typed. Because the keys float above the housing, guaranteed that one day you'll hit a corner key and launch it or break the plastic mounting lips. For the money, I have used way better, more durable, water protected, adjustable, keyboards for just 30 Euros. In short: Just buy it if looks are everything.The fact no-one is really excited about this keyboard says it all.
