I put on Fire Island on random weekend mornings. The movie is warm and fuzzy. Like a hug.

Lol. So he's saying that if they Don't know who he is then he will be a freak in the bedroom, but if they DO know who he is he Will tone it down. Well, now that he's put that out there, even if people do know who he is, They sure as hell aren't going to tell him. Who wants boring when you can have the freak experience? 😂😂

I want to help Joel’s hair. He was trying to do the whole Caesar straight bang for a while, but whoever did it didn’t know how to texturize it and he looked like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber. Now that it’s soooo short and pushed back and I’m seeing …. I just wish I could do his hair.

Don't Hate the Boomer (very young boomer)...I thought Fire Island was incredibly cliched and perpetuated very flat one dimensional characters, depicting so many of the dumb stereotypes out there and I was almost embarrassed that people were seeing this on TV BUT I get that this content might play positive to a young audience as Tales Of the City, SOAP and Queer as Folk was for me. I'll agree that those shows I grew up on perpetuated stereotypes (LOL Especially SOAP) but they did give me a sense of safety. I have seen some amazing content on TV featuring other life-style storylines that depict strong, likeable, positive, endearing characters that stayed away from any stereotypes and I was proud of those writers, directors, production teams and broadcasters, for producing and airing them. Stories like this in mainstream media will allow many people to feel a part of something bigger and safe ...as Nate says, seeing people who our queer, happy, and successful or as I hope written multi-dimensionally should be end goal when creating content.

@calebbenjamin8 I won't deny it. That's how you feel, and that is OK. I will make an assumption here. You are likely 30 to 40 years younger than me. As a gay man in my 60's I despise the word 'queer' and I dislike those affected attitude driven rude entitled sexualized gay stereotypes. I think it hurts rather than adds value. These characters just perpetuate in my boomer opinion. I've discussed this at length with younger gays who embrace these stereotypes. I did too when I was their age. It was the running joke. But as I grew older, it's schtick wears thin. It's an age thing as I said. I've been knee deep in the gay culture all my life due to lifestyle and career. Overall I found this writing weak. I LOVE Miss Cho but felt this was beneath. Hope she was paid well. I couldn't laugh brother, my friends and I watching it had to turn it off. And that's OK too.

I think for senior gay men we feel we MUST watch any movie with a gay topic because they were so rare in our younger years. Your movie I will watch because you do good movies which happen to be gay.

Funny how you mention Julia Roberts’ turn as a villain in *My Best Friend’s Wedding*. She plays one in *Closer*, as well. Honestly, most of her characters are a little cuckoo, especially on the morning after (Notting Hill, America’s Sweethearts)
