I live in Montana, and we reached mid 70s last week and high 50s to low 60s the week before that. Last night it dropped into the 20s and snowed. Think its going to hurt the fishing for a couple days.

Those places usually have a couple of pond monsters in them, because of the low bass density ( due to catch and keep). They are definitely tough to fish though. Good stuff 👍

Your snagged-lure snapping technique needs a tweak. you are snapping it with a taut line (even after release)... the idea is to have slightly loose tension, pull it taut, then "snap" it loose again, that lets the lure rebound backwards away from the snag/you and possibly come loose. With the snaps you are doing, it can never go the other way, it's really just kind of hammering it into the "whatever" it's in. Might pop it off a rock, but it likely won't ever come loose from a branch that way. (I'm unfortunately too-well practiced at the method, LOL, I'm good at catching the legendary giant stick-fishes). Hope it helps with future snags!

Here's an idea I would like to see rolled out. Find 3 pounds 3 rivers 3 lakes. Pick out 6 fishing lures. Any type of lures but they must be on the top or bottom row of where purchased. All lures must catch a fish from all venues. Heavest bag per water wins. Are you the ultimate fishing guru? Pass this on to the next challenger and compare the results.
