Want to say thank you for all your uploads during this crazy pandemic time, being a high risk cancer fighter, am on major lock down. Luckily I have my own personal pond on property to fish, or I would be going major crazy, but your vids help pass the time, thank you so much, please keep up the good work, it's enjoyed and appriciated! Talking about challenge ideas, my buddies and I used to do challenges where we had to make or own lures, we would select a hook we had to use, then use what ever could find to make a lure, wood, feathers, string, bottle caps, bullet casings, jewelery, what ever we could find, was always lot of fun,, just an idea you and your crazy buds should try sometime! They’ve probably been mentioned already, but those red tabs on the spoons are supposed to mimic a wounded fish with blood trail, and Amazon will often make up the descriptions for those lures to use multiple key words in order to push certain items. In China, their are usually multiple items that are represented by their word for lures, so in many cases, it’s up to the folks at Amazon to decipher and create the descriptions we see

9:30 That kind of lure is known as a Red gill/eddystone eel and they're sea fishing lures from the UK dating from the 50's. They're meant to imitate a very common prey fish called the sand eel/lance and are still widely used for catching European sea bass on the coast as well as a whole range of creatures from deeper waters when used like a jig in a team. I've had some success in fresh water with them but only in clear water when the fish were smashing everything that went past them, definitely not my go to though. The easiest way to tie them on is to pull the hook out the back, thread the line through the nose until it comes out the hook slot, tie the hook and then pull it back into the body. It really doesn't help if the manufacturer has used those gripper style hooks with the barbs on the shank. Texas rigging them seems to work best for working them across the bottom.

I’ve caught quite a few bass and stripers with that eel swimbait before. The ones I bought were crooked at the tails just like yours, but I straightened them out by dipping the tails and part of the lower bodies into hot water for a few seconds and then I dipped them into cold water for a few seconds. This step helps to straighten up the bent-up lures. Also, the reason why these lures tend to be crooked in the tail section in the first place is because they are sold with a cheap tackle box that are half the length of the lures and the people that sell them simply crammed them into the tiny tackle box to make them fit, which caused the tails to be bent out of shape.

You have to give the lures a fair chance. You have to use them in conditions that are in their favor swimbaits don’t work real well in chocolate milk water. Bass will eat almost anything as long as you use it in the proper conditions.
