Man I have 300$ plus rods and my favorite rod is a cheap daiwa combo rod.... with a fluger presidential (I know I know) but I cant break that rod have had it for 6 years. It makes me question myself every time I buy a rod over 60 bucks....always check the spine on a rod before you buy it....biggest reason rods break....spine is in the wrong spot compared to the guides.

You should try rooster tails they're fish killers and I've caught everything from pike to trout to bass on them. I like to toss it behind me and paddle a kayak around I'll catch fish all day long while no one else gets a bite

As someone fairly new to fishing, the very inexpensive but functional house-brand lures are excellent for learning what types of lures can do, and if it gets snagged from doing something stupid, it's not a $15 popper! Also, I never cease to be amazed at how ambitious bluegills can be. I've caught a good few sunfish on a squarebill.

Those ozark trail lures, are good lures if u can find the right color scheme an the hooks on them are eagle claw so there good, it's not a gomakatsu but eagle claw is a decent hook an a American classic for sure.....ill tell u something else to when ur in Wal-Mart look an see what lures are out or only have one or two lures left usually there the ones everybody catching fish on or people wouldn't be buying em all
