One of the great design details on this show is how everything at the TVA looks like it's from the late 70s/early 80s. The old computers, office furniture. Such a kick.
@horroreader4102 жыл бұрын
Definitely agree. I also love how they used the same hallway section set piece but just kept rotating it shooting from different angles and altering the wall art slightly, so that whenever Mobius and Loki walk through the halls, Mobius walks confidently as he knows his way around, while Loki if you look closely, kinda stumbles and almost goes the wrong way sometimes since all the "different" hallways look the same to him.

Meaning that fans are forced to get Disney+ or risk not understanding what's going on in future movies.* If I'm seeing this straight, Loki (the series) is the actual point where Marvel Studios begins to reclaim Fantastic Four, X-Men and the Spider-verse and that the Dr. Strange sequel is really the END of that reclamation. It's possible, Disney+ subscribers might not know that either. Yikes!

The thing to remember about the TVA is that they exist in all time, so to them it isn't that your choices are being made for you, but you already made those choices. The TVA exist outside time. Think of time like a movie, they've watched the whole movie already. But for the people in the movie, it's happening "live". The TVA can visit any point in the movie (Like we can by rewinding, scene select, etc.), and keep all the actors on script. Not everything that happens is going to be good. Like Loki, he's supposed to cause pain and suffering until he ultimately starts to reform and gets killed by Thanos. That's his predetermined plan according to the Time Keepers vision. If something happened and a certain german dictator never rose to power, they would go to that point in the "movie" and change it back so that he did.

26:32 This scene was filmed at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, a convention hotel designed by John Portman and Associates and known for among other things, its huge atrium. This hotel was also used as the Tribute Training Center in the Hunger Games sequels. Even more importantly though, the Atlanta Marriott Marquis is the central hotel for DragonCon every Labor Day Weekend, which is one of the biggest all-around-geekery conventions on the East Coast. The balconies that this show uses to represent the TVA Archives have already seen countless Loki V̶a̶r̶i̶a̶n̶t̶s̶ Cosplayers walk by on their carpet. I mention carpet because over the years DragonCon Attendees have fixated on a particularly recognizable carpet pattern the hotel had years ago (a fixation so strong that people actually incorporate that pattern into their cosplay). While the famous carpet was replaced with a blander pattern of brown and white stripes, the new carpet is very fitting for the general vibe of the TVA. And there was a boom shot in episode 2 that made the carpet quite obvious, which I believe was a deliberate nod on the part of the show makers to the fact that they were filming in one of fandom's annual meccas. (The Marriott's Atrium was also in a scene in one of the trailers for Spider-Man: Homecoming, although said scene never made it into the movie itself.)

The TVA basically works in a dimension where they can access Time like it were the pages of a book. The TVA can just flip through its pages to see where in the story the timeline variants occur and create too many alternate realities though choices. They come in and police the the flow of Time to make sure the books narrative happens in only one way with no questions of alternate realities. Its very abstract and I hope my book analogy made sense 😅
@pukpukkrolik2 жыл бұрын
AFAIK in the comics the TVA were a thinly veiled metaphor for Marvel’s editors - people doing Feige’s job, among other things, fixing continuity errors - so the (comic) book analogy is right on money. The fandom wiki states: >Mobius M. Mobius' physical appearance is based on that of Mark Gruenwald, a Marvel writer and editor best known for tidying up continuity and striving for internal consistency, who also conceived the idea of the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe

Yes, it's a girl Loki. She's unique to the show but she's based on two comic characters. 1) Loki in the comics took over Lady Sif's body. So Loki was a girl. Also note that in Norse mythology itself, not Marvel, Loki himself did choose to become a woman for a while and the comic storyline was a play on that. 2) Loki in the comics has an evil female ally Asgardian called the Amora the Enchantress. Hence all the talk about her "Enchanting". They are Thor's two biggest enemies. Also Carl Urban's character in Thor Ragnarok, the guy with the machine guns who served Thor's sister Hel (actually Loki's daughter in the comics and Norse mythology, Thor has a different sister in the comics... but she's a recent addition and actually a play on Christian Angels, her name is Angela and she's about half way between Thor and Loki in personality (Thor's desire to fight but Loki's cunning). Long story short with her, but I digress, she's this far a no show in the MCU as Marvel got her rights in a sale after the first Thor movie) is actually one of The Enchantresses minions. So basically, they're very cleverly bringing in a major comic character the MCU didn't use yet (The Enchantress), but explaining it by making her a Loki from an alternate universe.

D. B. The aircraft was flying from Portland, Oregon, to Seattle, Washington. The hijacker extorted $200,000 in ransom (equivalent to $1,338,000 in 2021), asked to be flown to Reno, Nevada, then parachuted to an uncertain fate over southwestern Washington part-way through the second flight. A small portion of the ransom was found along the banks of the Columbia River in 1980, which triggered renewed interest but ultimately only deepened the mystery; the great majority of the ransom remains unrecovered. The man purchased his airline ticket using the alias Dan Cooper but, because of a news miscommunication, became known in popular culture as D. B. Cooper.
