I loved this movie! It’s about dealing with grief. All the movies since Infinity War have been so dark, which is fine but now they have to show how everyone deals with trauma/grief. Thor lost his entire family, the love of his life, good friends/Avenger teammates and his entire home planet. At first he fell deep into depression, he beheaded Thanos but that offered little relief so he’s trying to use humor and forced happiness to live on. Not every character needs to be brooding, or unreasonably oppressive to others (like Wanda). Psychologically this is a good take on how many people deal with tragedy.

I think a Gorr story and Jane Foster cancer story should have been split to 2 different movies. Gorr's such a massively impactful character/villain in the Thor comics and to see an actor of Bale's caliber reduced to comic relief as well as underwritten, is absolutely awful. Jane's cancer and her transformation to the 'Mighty Thor' could've been really amazing and emotional. To tie that off with Thor's own dilemma of existential immortality. I think a lot of us were left gobsmacked how Waititi and especially Feige thought treating the two most emotional arcs of Thor's character in the comics were used in live action.

I disagree. I think what works about the film is the idea of a formerly devout mortal turned godkiller, contrasted with a mortal woman of science who takes up arms in defense of gods even though she knows it will kill her to do so. That's a helluva f---ing story. The problem with the movie is that it keeps interrupting that story for a rom-com love triangle: Thor and his two hammers. The thing that doesn't work about the movie is Thor. He's a distraction, the comic relief, actually, from the movie with his name on it. The movie _should_ have been called Love and Thunder, focused on Jane vs Gorr, and only brought in Thor _with_ the Guardians in the second half of the film when Jane realizes she's too new and in over her head.

So Valkyrie is bi, Korg is gay, Korg's dads are gay, Heimdall's kid is trans (complete with a lecture on dead-naming), Zues is effete and Miek is a crossdresser. Okay, Disney, we get it. Seriously. We do. Glad to see you managed to keep your streak of male sexploitation unbroken - I'm not sure we've had a single MCU film where the male protagonist didn't manage to spend time with his shirt off, flexed and usually oiled down or dripping wet. Meanwhile, if Tony even head-fakes towards sexualizing a character (Black Widow) who has, by canon, turned seduction into an art form, social media loses its mind. This movie had the potential to be really good, especially with Christian Bale playing Gorr, but Taika Wahtiti was just so dead level set on shoe-horning as many assinine jokes as possible that it just derailed the whole thing... sure, Stormbreaker and Mjolnir are good enough to pretend to be jealous ex-girlfriends, but Thor for some reason has to fight the final battle with Zeus's lightning bolt, which somehow has the power to give everyone... the power of Thor??? He's not even trying to make sense anymore. Lazy, crappy film-making at its worst. Thor deserved better, as did the fanbase.

Okay, Cassie & Callie! 💕 Love is being homeschooled by Uncle Thor! 😊 The Shadow Monsters? They were designed by the children! That helped them know who they were fighting while acting! This movie is an example of the director knowing how it ends, so of course, he can be funny as he was with "JoJo Rabbit". It is up to the audiences to be able to keep up and trust that the director knows what he or she is doing. 🤔 The goats? They are a part of his original lore mythology. It took them long enough to appear! 🐐 (We used to have goats as part of our variety of barnyard animals.) Jane! We see that she actually is a brunette! She had a painless transition to Valhalla in that no corpse was left behind! ✨️. As far as I'm concerned she didn't actually die, in an atheistic sense. I know that some people like to dwell on drama and/or tragedy very slowly. But this movie is a work of Fantasy Genre fiction and we don't have the time to ponder and grieve like we did with 9/11! This movie is a story being told to mostly children! Think about the emotional range expressed in some children's books before the eventul happy ending! 😊 That's the type of flashback movie it is! But told as a cave campfire story if not a bedtime story per se! Bye-bye for now! Namaste! 🙏
